Afternoon All

 

My mate has had a call from some outfit called Allied International Credit demanding immediate payment by Monday as they have some papers ready for the courts.

 

He told them to be his guest and the bloke on the other end started shouting at him so he put the phone down on him.

 

Before the shouting they asked for copies of everything he has with regards to agreement is duff, default is duff, statements showing the charge off 1 month before agreed settlement date & the copy of the credit record showing the charged off and defaulted 1 month before settlement date.

 

Should he ignore them? Or tell them to do one.

 

Any help apprciated

I have suggested that he write them them and say given all the circumstances and MBNA's actions you will offer £2k full and final settlement down from £4k payable over 12 months and if not see you in court. Also make it clear that the DN is removed immediately. See what sort of reaction that prevokes from them.

 

MBNA must know they are on dodgy ground as even after the event their in house monkeys Debt Clear were offering to still do a deal with him.

 

I've told him not to worry to much as if they had a leg to stand on they'd of had him up in court by now and been done with it. They are fully aware they have acted illegally and don't want him winning in court and making it a very public matter.

 

He'd be happy with that, but if not he's not worried about the DN being on his file for 6 years as because of them he's already been refused a remortgage.

Hi Scrapper,

 

You may not be getting as much help because the thread title says 'Won' in it!

 

Are you just asking whether or not to ignore Allied International? I am pretty sure I had a letter from them about one of my cards, but I can't remember which one and haven't heard anything more from them.

 

Have you sent Vint a PM? He hasn't posted in the last few days, so may be having a well earned rest!

 

If you google Allied International, it will give you threads on here about them so you can get further ideas about them.

If AIC call and threaten legal action then I would just politely point out that you cannot use the phone for formal warnings of court action, and you look forward to receiving the written confirmation. If they start shouting just hang up and write a letter to AIC explaining why you hung up. Don't get sucked in.

 

I've lost the thread of the thread a bit - is this in regard of something where there is already an arrangement or is this after nine months radio silence?

It is confusing I know. This started out as my thread and I managed to do a short full and final settlement with MBNA. Then a friend of mine jumped on the bandwagon and I should have started a new thread for him but instead I tagged it onto the end of mine. Bad I know:roll:
