after checking my experian account i noticed that cabot have entered the same debt twice same amount same date.

After contacting experian they contacted cabot and put an note on my account which says i have disputed the accuracy of the entry.

 

but they say "

after contacting cabot regarding entry c9 and c10 cabot have advised that they are unable to amend /delete the entry in question at the current time

Cabot has requested that you contact them directly regarding this matter.You may wish to include with your correspondence any documentation to support your claim"

 

it then give the address of cabot

then states

"Experian is unable to amend this information without the authorisation of the company in question"

 

i am off to the post office to send a cca to cabot now, is there anything else i can do regarding a wrong entry on my credit reference files?

Unfortunately the CRA's work habd in hand with the botom feeders, so basically they insist that only the person registered with them can remove a default on their account.

 

You should write to Cabot requesting clarification of how they are able to apply 2 defaults to the same accountg, you also need to request a copy of Experians complaints procedure as they are clearly not acting within the laws which govern them.

 

If they do not act on your complaint, then raise a complaint with the FSA and OFT as the law clearly states that it is not permissable to have more than one default for the same account

therefore you need clarification from cabot of exazctly what these debts are, if they only hold one account for you yet they have posted 2 defaults against you, then do not accept an apology and a deletion from your credit file, make an official complaint and make sure they pay for their "mistake"

I was alarmed to see that there are two entries made by yourselves appearing on my account. I have requested that Experian look into this matter and they in turn have advised me to contact yourselves.

I know of no debts for these amounts and acknowledge no debt to your company and seek immediate arification of what these two accounts represent. Please note that under the 4th Principal of the Data Protection Act 1998 "Personal data shall be accurate and, where necessary, kept up to date".

 

It is your responsibility as the Data Controller to ensure the accuracy of any information processed by your company and noted on my credit file via Credit Reference Agencies.

 

I require within 14 days a full response to my query or the removal of the aforementioned Defaults froom My Credit File.

 

I trust that you will act with due diligance on this matter
