from what I've seen some people have been taking their catologues but I'm not sure if they have been successful or not.

I hope your little girl gets better soon. My twins Zach and Scarlett were six weeks prem and were in special care for a few weeks so I know how worrying it can be.

Take it steady ok.

Right, Got the letter today saying:-

I'm writing following your recent correspondence to Charles Bacon in which he asked us to refund charges to your account, refunded x amount in charges and x amount in lost interest etc blah blah.

PLEASE BE AWARE THAT THE INTEREST AMOUNT WE HAVE CREDITED TO YOUR ACCOUNT IS LESS THAN THE AMOUNT YOU HAVE REQUESTED IN YOUR CLAIM. WE HAVE THOROUGHLY INVESTIGATED AND CALCULATED THE INTEREST ON ALL THE CHARGES THAT HAVE BEEN APPLIED TO YOUR ACCOUNTS TO ARRIVE TO THIS FIGURE.

So that is where my £47 shortfall is, I am not sure what to do now, is this a standard letter? or have I worked out the interest incorrectly? any idea?

Why not ask them to show you how they arrived at their figure? You showed them yours (so to speak!) If they've fully investigated it, then surely this information will be easily available to them.

I sent an e-mail to Mr Bacon asking them to explain how they arrived at their figure.

I received a letter saying that as the claimant, it was my responsibility to know how much the charges and interest were.

This has left me in doubt as to whether I correctly calculated my unauthorised OD interest correctly, and wondering whether to persue the remaining £85 from a claim of £2500 in case they are right and I am wrong!

isn't that what they want you to think? putting a little doubt in your mind? But £2415 is a great amount of money to get back - congratulations and well done and I hoped you enjoy it.

I think a fair few people have had that happen to them. Really its up to you if you persue it any further. I think I had a shortfall of £1.42 and just left it at that. Other than that I really can't say anything.

Hi Anna

They said in their letter that they new the amount paid was less and that they had thoroughly investigatred and calculated all the charges that had been applied to my account.

In my email to Charles Bacon I have asked if he can give me a breakdown of the charges they have calculated, but looking at some other threads it doesn't look like they will.

If you've taken the time to illustrate how you arrived at your calculations then surely it's not an unreasonable request to ask Mr Bacon how he arrived at theirs!

After all they're the ones who been 'looking' after our money all this time ;-)

hi, I am in the same boat, got 5K back but still £500 short. I am just going to leave the claim as partially paid and they will need to give me a breakdown of why the shortfall.

If they justify it then thats ok, NOT.

Will send the "thanks for the part payment.....but see you in court" letter recorded tomorrow and by email.

I will probably also call them.

I will let you know what happens.

If I have helped click my scales....

I phoned the number on the letter saying they had short paid me 01793 712603 and was put through to another department. Very polite and helpful people.

They said that the shortfall would be put into my account today...

I had sent my "thanks for the part payment ....so you in court" email first thing to Mr Bacon so don't know if that helped. But I just asked and no questions were asked.

They implied there was also a letter in the post about the additional missing funds.

Cooool.

Second claim can now commence....request sent recorded today.

If I have helped click my scales....
