Now,this is another one i got quite fedup with.Whenever you are late with your payment they charge you £20!!

Anyway....i sent them following email through their website:

Dear Sir/madam,

Please send me a comprehensive list of all the charges that you have

made to my account in the past six years, showing the date and amount of

each charge, and a description of what it was for. I make this request

using my rights under the Data Protection Act and expect your response

within 40 days.

Yours faithfully,

Received following reply today:

Dear Mrs jellybabe,

A full statement of your account will be sent to you separately as

requested, from the date your account was opened on 9th November 2000.

If you have any further queries please do not hesitate to contact us.

Thank you.

Quite plain,but all i wanted.And no mention of the £10 fee.

Will see if they keep their promise.

Done the same with Vertbaudet catalogue.But will put that in a different thread.

Did you literally use the 'Contact Us' button or did you email someone directly? My debt with studio has gone to DCA now but I know almost £80 of it was charges, and I'll have that back thanks. :D

Will be watching this like a hawk to see how you get on. :)

My opinions are just that, I will help if I can but I am NOT a professional. If in doubt seek legal advice.

sent one to freemans too,but they are a bit more stubborn i think.

The try telling me that there were no charges at all on my account.Not even from orders as they were all returned apparently.But,how come that my credit file says that i missed at least one payment??

I will send a written DPA letter off this week and see what they come back with.

Yeah had an email from Freemans telling me to contact my DCA for any queries about charges, so sent them another one saying 'sorry but as you were the original creditor and you applied the charges I am unwilling to contact the DCA regarding this, they just inform me of the total amount and no breakdown of charges. And as my account was with you and not them...' etc etc, you get the jist. :)

HELP!I need some advice!

Studio just paid the money they owed back to me.They paid my outstanding balance of 44.95 into my account,which is fine with me,as that is now cleared.

But now it starts!They sent me the remaining money they owe me in Vouchers to be used against orders from their catalogue.I don't want to use their catalogue no more,and wanted to close the account after it's paid off,which it now is.

Can anyone please advice me what i can do now??Shall i send those vouchers back and ask for a cheque instead?Please please please anyone?

I would! Cheeky sods!!

Tell them that you want a cheque otherwise legal action will continue.

Please note that I am not a legal expert and all advice given is without prejudice and is purely my opinion only.

** Nationwide - £1821.15-PAID IN FULL - Aug 06 **

** Halifax Mortgage -£390 - PAID IN FULL - Nov 06 **

Lloyds TSB - MCOL issued 09/03/07 - £2953 + costs - ON HOLD....

Did you put in your original letter that you wanted reimbursing by cheque?

If so, reitterate that. If not, say that you have no need for these vouchers as you will be not be using their company again, and as you made your payment by pounds sterling, you expect the refund to be in the form of either a cheque or postal orders. If they do not comply within 7 days you will be taking further action and will not cease until a refund of unlawful charges is made in accordance with your requests.

Send them back SPECIAL DELIVERY because of the value, making sure you have compensation to the correct amount. Also make a note of the serial numbers of the vouchers and put "enc: Vouchers, Serial Nos xxxxxx to xxxxxx" at the bottom of your letter. Staple them to the letter if at all possible.

Hope that helps a bit.

for what it's worth, we just claimed back (on an old account) . They didn't even put up a fight with us. Wrote and advised they were reviewing charges after oft malarky but because we are a valued customer (did i mention this was an old account ?) they would send the refund under seperate cover.

Basically, the cheque was drawn on 18/7 and received by us on 25/7 so it took a week to get a signature and stamp on it, fairly easy to get it back we thought !

i would like some advice on a different matter with Studio.

I noticed on my statements that i've been charged for PPI.I am sure i have never asked for it, and the charges don't appear to be regular.Like, PPI usually gets charged once a month,doesn't it? Mine only appear every now and again over the last few years.

For example:

Account opened 09/11/2000

no ppi until 11/10/2001 ;

Then Feb 2002, none charged;

April 2002, none charged;

Then none charged between 13/03/2003 and 23/12/2004;

Feb 2005 none charged;

May 2005 none charged;

And then between August 2005 and June 2006 none charged again.

All this looks a bit odd to me.

I asked twice since June to cancel and refund it to me, since i never requested it...but no success.

The account is now cleared, and i just don't know what to do no more.I know they only charged me £39.94 ppi since account opening, but i still want it back.

Any chance of me getting it actually?
