I loved her (false) last words - We are helping people. Obviously a case of living on another planet / listen to me but not knowingly do I lie.

Thanks for the link and for a second I thought it a spoof of the late Margaret Thather. There's actually a more sinister side to all this now - with some banks it'll be a proportion of taxpayers money paying for legal costs.

Damm that woman doesnt give up!!

The banks are going to draw this out to the bitter end.

Actually I reckon she'd still be spouting sh1te now if they'd left the mikes on.

Then again, having listened twice, she sounds like a blubbering idiot, albeit a teflon-coated one with a large plum in her mouth:rolleyes:

She knew she had nothing to say which could justify her bosses position so she tried to dominate the show by not allowing anyone else speak. She had to be told to shut up bloody awful woman. I don't know how Marc restrained himself I think I would have given her a slap:mad:

If you search the BBA site for the biog of Angela Knight here:

BBA – British Bankers' Association - Chief Executive - Angela Knight CBE

You will get the following information:

Chief Executive, British Bankers' Association

After leaving Bristol University with an honours degree in chemistry, Angela worked for the American industrial gas company Air Products Ltd.

She was the product development manager for the application and sales of nitrogen as an inert carrier during the treatment of ferrous metal components.

.... this basically means that her specialist subject is ... "HOT AIR"...

... so not much changed there then !!

Incidentally, the page also allows you to download a jpg image of the lovely lady.....

..... soon appearing on a dart-board near pretty most everyone !!:D

Good Panaroma report tonight. I hear a 'rep' of CAG has said on Radio the ball park figure for a bank charge is £4. News to me as the study undertaken for this concluded it was £2 or less.

Yes I'd suspect calling it retaining 'margins'. No one is going to do anything at costs but surprised any figure would be mentioned at this point of time. Personally my only fear is that a bank such as HSBC who stop at £150 a month (in threory) would allow multiple amount to that figure again. Currently it's like £25 per item to a maximum of £150.

You heard incorrectly - what I actually said was that 'even £4 would be a generous estimate of the cost to the banks.'

Do you not think that as the Banks are deep in the doo doo now that their gambling addiction is being paid for by you and me, that they might as well throw in the towel now and pay us what they already owe us?

Surely whilst you are at the bottom of a hole there is no point in digging?

If they were to absorb the debts now- rather than put it off for probably another two years with appeals- then they could start from scratch.

Whereas they may recover during the next two years- only to be hit again when they have to pay us?

My experince has been that the big company mentality is what I call a thin air markup policy.

If they think they will get away with it they will.

We consumers quite rightly like to hold these companies to a high customer service standard and moral standards.

Were all human but I do think the powers to be should make a more consumer ruling.

Oh gawd, that woman. She managed to say nothing and stretch it out into a yawn fest. I was waiting for the presenter to shut her up but she owned him.

I wait for the day proffessionalism goes out of the window and someone screams the facts at the b***h, and watch/listen to the slimey shyte as she tries to dismiss the truth like only a politician can, in vain.

I'd also love to give her a slap.

I see what you're saying, if you're going to declare debts and get a helping hand to pay them off you may as well chuck it all in and then start from scratch.

My only problem with that is whether it sits well that I can complain about an ex CEO getting £650,000 a year pension after the tax payers have bailed the bank he did his best to bankrupt, but then in the same breath accept the bank paying out on my claim and using the same means (ie the tax payers money). I don't think that's right really, why should everyone else pay for the failings of one or two individuals (figuratively speaking)?

I know it's easy for me to say as I'm very fortunate to have a decent income and stable job (and I promise I really do appreciate how fortunate I am and that there are many others in completely different circumstances to me) but I think I would be happy to wait for payment until I know it's coming from the bank's profits rather than the bail out money, should my claim be found successful of course.

May be they should arrange an appointment with us and we can discuss their options to ensure that their debts to us are managed correctly? After all, practice what you preace and all that!

Cheers,

KA.

Gizmo - nice to see a name that's helped me in the past. I just don't have time to watch a vid that has clearly generated the amount of dirision on show but, I wonder, how do you see the time line playing out when we can at least go for the jugular on unreasonable costs. Are the banks going to the House of Lords?

I have a couple of questions actually:

koalaattack: Whilst I might partially agree with your comments there is a word you might have overlooked on it - Nationalisation, and the good possibility of this bearing in mind NR is already fully owned by the taxpayer.

Anyone: What did AK get her CBE for?

Observation: One must remember that AK is an ex MP and that means once you let people like that interfere then the road to ruin begins (oh and they are trained to avoid answering direct issues)!

Whilst 'old' this article might be interesting regarding AK http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/money/article1400160.ece
