I've also asked this in the past!

Maybe it was a one off as Bookie says...? But how about seeing it as both a marketing and donations tactic..??

Personally, i'ld be both happy and very proud to wear a CAG sweatshirt with the CAG logo and my username on, like those "one off" t-shirts!!

And maybe i'll start the ball rolling here... CAG sweatshirt... logo... username... £20/25 donation...?

Pssst Dave Dave...Have a quick look at this Thread...;)

Could I interest U in some bockles of cheapo vodka/anti-freeze instead??

...I have a contact in the Leningrad British Pound Shop I could give a call, if U're really keen?!...

...The Cag logo endorsed on a product of luxury and daring
Does that mean that U want me to get a CAG tattoo, or that U want ME to get branded??...

As I recall, this idea was considered in the early days but it's not very practical. Time and money would need to be invested in this, there would need to be stocks kept somewhere by someone who's willing to send them out, how many do you buy of each size, how much do they cost to make, how much would/could people afford to pay etc. It was decided to stick to things that people could use to help with their claims I believe.

I can thoroughly recommend the Patricia Pearl book

I have Patricia's book and the will making pack but it seems there would be a lot of interest in tee shirts or sweat shirts... or maybe even an iron on logo that you could use on a plain white garment, similar to the CAG stickers sold at the moment.

I am wearing my CAG sweatshirt at the moment, and I always dig it out if I know I am going to the bank.:p

If you know of any way the garments could be printed etc, then please let us know.

  • 1 year later...
What happened to the merchandising thread MTM posted, it seemed to die in July without a conclusion... didn't BF and Dave like the idea?
I know that caro gave a reasoned reply to Cb at the time, but things are a little bit further down the line now and I'm sure that there are peeps out there in Greater CAGlandshire that may like the idea to be reappraised.

Why are we dragging up dead threads from 17 months ago????
Some threads have useful/humourous/pertinent info contained therein.

...Even one of yours I believe diskmandave. ;)

Why have the same incestuous threads re-circulating on the 1st page of the BG2??

Likewise on the main forums, there is a library of really useful info that has been 'forgotten' about and cause peeps to be continually re-inventing the wheel about perhaps a re-occurring theme.

Most won't remember, and the rest won't give a cr@p..
And your problem with other peeps having their own thoughts is...??

No one is forcing you to read/post.

...Try thinking about other peeps outside of your little box once in a while eh?

:)

As with anything,CAG has always been interested to listen to ideas, whether it be merchandising or anything else.

Caros post probably has the same relevance today as it did then, especially considering peoples financial situation.

Anyone who wishes to take up their own initiatives, and produce their own should first seek approval from site admin.

This is not just a policy adopted by CAG,its very likely to be the same position with any large organisation.

There can be little benefit in opening an old discussion,if by doing so,it spurs on the type of comments we have seen already.

If the subject is worthy of further discussion-then lets see some sensible suggestions-who knows,we just might end up with something constructive.!
