1. I kid you not. I do it all the time, this time there was a trout on the out of date shelf going for the pricely sum of 10p! So I decided to take a photo of it and post it on twitter with the line 10p trout! for a laugh, because I'm a bit silly. No sooner had I taken the photo though before one of the staff came up to me and said he was afraid he was going to ask me to delete the photo as they don't permit taking photos of stock or prices or something. I was like, are you have a laugh mate? Is Jeremy Beadle hiding round the corner? Nope, he was serious and when I said no he then said that he was going have to ask me to leave, and as I walked away he picked up his radio to call security. I whizzed round and pick up the item I was after, paid for it and left before security could apprehend me. Who knows what happened with security, I expect the guy was on the other end of the phone saying "you want me to what? Kick someone out for taking a photo of a fish?" So there it is, your funny That's Life story for the evening. Interesting to see if they let me back in, maybe I can make some money selling the story to The Sun. I suppose I was wondering as well, where the law stands with regards to this? I do this all the time, normally to take a photo of something I might be interested in buying. But the fish, no. I'm vegetarian!
2. Hi all, Havent posted in years but I just wanted to find out if anyone has had any good progress with Picture / IDEM I tried to dispute and gave up with all the red tape but after realising that I have been paying on time for 90 months and the loan hasnt moved I have found the fire again... below are my details I stupidly took out a Picture Loan in Sept 2007. the loan amount was for 25000, Picture added 5000 PPI to the total loan so the loan amount was 30,000. I found this out after and in discussion with FCSC regarding this.... Some months I have paid £500 with the hope of paying less interest but the interest was still £210 a month. Account is not in arrears so I am not sure if Idem will agree to freeze interest. Now that would be helpful. Ive read some forums that mentioned that IDEM agreed to freeze interest, does anyone have a template letter? In terms of being mis-sold I have researched and some of the below might be valid. I would love to know if any other people who have had a Picture Loan have any valid input or feedback 1) I was not informed that the 5000 would be added to the loan and I would be paying 25 years of interest on it! 2) loan is variable but even though the bank rate is 0.5 this 2nd mortgage loan hasn't decreased (unlike my Halifax Mortgage)... 3) My lack of financial knowledge was used to take advantage of me. I should have been advised to discuss my debt issue with StepChange and setup a Debt Management Plan instead I was encourage to consolidate. 4) The total amount repayable was never made clear, with my mortgage I received a key facts document 5) with my unsecured debt I am in a DMP with StepChange and fortunately the companies involved have frozen interest and charges. Stepchange are unable to assist with this loan because its secure 6) I discussed the issue of the interest rate being variable and never going down with Idem, they said there are unable to assist because initial company has gone bankrupt but Idem do regularly review??? 7) I spoke to FOS and they are unable to help. FSCS can only deal with the PPI not the entire loan 8) Citizens advice have informed me that I may be able to discuss mis representation act but it should have been done within 6 years. I am at a lost but very angry and annoyed that I got myself in this situation I am alot wiser and smarter now and would never make the same mistake. Do you think I could send a F & F settlement for a say £5000 and hope they will accept? Any help or advice is very much appreciated.
3. Hi all, Wondered if you could give me some advice. I was in Grahame Park in Hendon today and needed to pop to the Sainsbury's local store. There was a lay by to the side of the store which had cars parked in it already and I pulled in, was just about to get out of the car and a bloke walking past said "Don't park here mate, its a loading bay and they are taking pictures of the cars". I thanked him and got back in the car but as I was pulling out into the traffic, a woman appeared and took a picture of my car and the registration plate. I went back there later (without the car!) and fair enough, there are 4 signs up but they are at least 10ft in the air and the wording of them is tiny, there's no way anyone could read them without getting on top of them. They say the usual about agreeing to pay consideration in the form of a parking charge, £100 and £60 if paid within a time period etc. I must have only been there for about 3 minutes at the most and there was no ticket put on the car but what do you reckon I should do? To make matters more complicated I've only just moved and the car still registered to my old address! Any advice would be much appreciated, Thanks
4. Hi, I've just come across this site and amazed at how many ppl are/were in my position. I am a new user. I too have a Picture Loan and was wondering if it is to late to apply for PPI refund? I previously had a picture loan in my sole name. My partner and I decided to consolidate our debts and take out a joint loan. Picture added what was outstanding from my single loan to the joint loan. The agreement said the PPI was optional and we said we did not want it. The PPI was still added to the loan. We paid off what we thought was the loan and Picture insisted we still owed just short of £20,000. which happened to be the exact amount of the PPI. Technically we are now paying PPI for a loan we do not even have. Can we claim back the money we have been paying. We have had this loan since 2006. Thank you.
5. Hi I would like to send a letter to my loan company offering them an increased payment monthly to clear off the arrears on my account. I have completed a budget sheet and will include this with my letter. Is there a template I can use, or can someone help me with the wording please. I have received default notices and i think the lender is taking legal action and looking to repossess. I want to stop this if possible please. Thanks.
6. Sorry for having to create a new thread. I know there is already a lot of great information out there already and I have read loads already but I need some fairly specific advice with this one. So the story goes: I took my Dads car to the office the other night. We have use of a car park that belongs to a bank that we sublet an office from. All thats required is a little paper permit that I have had sitting between my dash and windscreen for months now without any issues. The other day my Dad sent me a text saying he had received a letter about a PCN being "overdue". He sent me a copy and I saw that the evidence pictures were really dark and hard to make out. So I logged in to the website to see the rest of their evidence. Looking through the pictures I can see that they are all taken in the dark using a flash that has done nothing except illuminate the reg plate in to a incomprehensible blurred mess. Cant even read the reg. There is one picture on the whole windscreen that if I up the exposure, I can just about see the permit in the bottom of the drivers side windscreen but obviously I cant see any details. The rest of the pictures of the dash and windscreen are all taken pointed away from where the permit is... So what should I do from here? Send an appeal letter with the photo that I upped the exposure on and suggest that perhaps the Parking Official didn't see the permit in the dark? Or is there a standard appeal letter I should send first? Thanks in advance for any advice given.
7. Hi, This is the first forum I have registered with so if I am asking the wrong questions on the wrong forum I apologise. In 2007 we took out a loan with picture, it changed hands and went to Webb /resolutions and I believe again Idem services. We originally took out the insurance in case my husband lost his job. Apparently it was for the first 5 years, I was informed today that at then of the 5 year term we would receive notification from them to ask us if we wished to take out further insurance. In the 5 years the company changed hands, we did not receive any letters. My husband is now out of work and it seems that I am not insured. This was a one payment policy which means I am paying for the insurance that I no longer have for the full term of the loan, is there anything anyone can recommend what I can do please. Thanks.
8. Getting married soon and ordered a personalised cake topper. When it came it was not really the same style as the photo example. Specifically, the "Mr" and "Mrs" are not at different levels and the first letter of our surname is not overly large as in the example (see below) The example pictured is as so: The one we got looks like this (click for bigger): Emailed the seller the asking if she could make one with the above features, reply was: Thank you for getting in touch, I apologise for the long delay in getting back to you. We are sorry to hear you are unhappy with your order. I have had a look at the photograph you have sent to us, and can see that the way the & has been placed is due to the letters included in your name. Because of the L we are unable to have the exact same design as Mr and Mrs Smith. We are always happy to send a proof before processing an order if this is requested. Unfortunately we are unable to send a replacement free of charge as this item is not faulty or damaged. However we would be happy to include 25% discount on a new order. I replied with: I understand that each design will be different due to the different letters in various surnames and it is unfortunate that ours didn't allow for the usual style to be applied. What really attracted us to your design was that it had multiple levels of words (The "Mr" high up, stylish large "&" followed by a lower level "Mrs". The surname also had a large Capital which balances out/matches the large "&" sign). I'm sure you can understand why we are slightly disappointed with the end result, as it has very few of the advertised example's features. If it is not possible, as you have said, to create a topper with a similar concept to the example using our surname; then can I regretfully request a refund. I don't like to ask, and I am more than happy to cover the original postage costs. She said: Thank you for getting back to me, unfortunately as this item is a personalised item we are unable to offer a refund or exchange. However as a gesture of goodwill I can either refund you 25% of the order or we can offer a 25% discount on a new order with another design. So, It is a personalised item, but it doesn't really match the example. Am I entitled to my money back? or is the 25% off actually more than generous? I'm just interested more than anything, as to whether she's right or not.
9. I am really needing some help. I have a house valued at £110,000 and a mortgage of £105,000 which I may need to sell. The only problem is I have a secured loan of £34,000 on my home through Picture (or whoever they are now) which has arreas of £650 and they will only get bigger as I am no longer able to afford the loan. What I am wanting to know is am I allowed to sell my home even though the secured loan won't get paid off. I am intending to rent if I can sell my home. Any advice would be much appreciated. I don't want to sell if I don't have to but will Picture?? take my home even if they won't get any proceeds from the sale.
10. Anyone who has recent dealings with Picture home loans since January 2013 please get in touch as I am looking to get people together to tackle Picture Home Loans head on by getting a group together to request documentation from Picture. They are legally obliged to submit to show the transition from Picture Home Loans one through all this service agents they used to Picture Home Loans 2 and associated paperwork with each loan as I am pretty sure they do not have this paperwork which will be of great interest to the FCA and may well expose through the FCA this can of worms and the pay picture home loans 2 is operating especially with regards to interest rates.
11. Hi there, I wondered if anyone can help please? I stupily took out, in total a £58k loan from Picture and then got into difficulty. Picture then froze the interest when I got into arrears. I was single, living alone and panicking about my finincial situation and this option was put to me via a broker (who's now bust) I have £6,500 of arrears from 2006 but kept paying the same original agreement amount of £660pm. Other things suffered as a result but I just had to keep a roof over my head! I didn't keep a track of it but just paid every month. I've now taken my head out of the sand and am trying to find figure out how to get my self back up straight. I got a statement from Idem after I requested it and have just found out a) I had a £9000 PPI policy added to the loan when I first took it out and b) when Idem took over, they lumped £26k of interest from the previously frozen interest!! Twenty Six Thousand Pound! How much??!! Help!! I'd got the balance on my loan down to £37,000 before Idem took over (based on their statement) and added the £26k. In total I know owe them £63,000 after 6 years of paying £660 per month (excluding the peirod of the arrears). My first thought is to contact a mortgage solicitor to see if the whole thing has been missold, do something somehow to get the £26k interest taken off and then (or all at the same time) contact a company for a PPI reclaim. Has anyone had any experience in proving a mortgage was mis-sold, getting the interest back, reclaiming the PPI or any other advice in how to deal with these people? I just don't know where to turn!
12. Hi there this is my first time posting here and any advice greatly received. In 2006 I took out a loan from picture financial which was almost certainly the worst mistake of my life! The original loan was for £72K and was taken at a time when almost certainly I should have looked at a debt management plan instead. The debt has now been taken over by Webb Resolutions but I have never had a statement about the loan for at least 4 years although the payment is still collected this month. This morning I called to enquire about a settlement figure and was informed that the amount would be £66K which is only £6K less than we originally borrowed despite paying almost £600/month for the last 7 years. The interest on the loan is now over 9% despite it being just over 5% when we took the loan. I may be in a position to have some funds (nowhere near their settlement figure) to try and pay off the loan but does anyone have any advice about approaching them about a full and final settlement and what to offer. Also would this normally have to be made by someone acting on your behalf. thanks for your help
13. Hi, I really need some advise please re a loan secured on my home. It was taken out 5 yrs ago, still 5yrs to run. It is in mine and ex husbands name, but secured on my home. He was paying in full up until 1st March, and suddenly stopped paying - and since then I have had numerous calls and letters from them. I have agreed to providing an income/expenditure, which will show I am unable to make any payment ( just lost half my work hours, and struggling to survive). Question, should I talk on phone to them, or ask to correspond through letters? I am already feeling pressurised by them, and only 1 payment missed so far. Is any small offer of payment beneficial? Any advise would be appreciated, many thanks.
14. Mujibar was trying to get a job in India .... The Personnel Manager said, 'Mujibar, you have passed all the tests, except one. Unless you pass it, you cannot qualify for this job.' Mujibar said, 'I am ready.' The manager said, 'Make a sentence using the words Yellow, Pink, and Green .' Mujibar said, 'The telephone goes green, green, And I pink it up, and say, Yellow, this is Mujibar.' Mujibar now works at a call centre. No doubt you have spoken to him. I know I have.
15. When I register my 18+ student oyster card I upload wrong picture(my wife's picture) mistakenly. And keep using that oyster card with my wife's picture on it. Yesterday ticket inspector caught me for wrong picture on my card. He took the oyster card with him and issue me a 2 weeks paper travel card. He said British transport police will investigate this. It was a genuine mistake and i was lazy to apply for another 18+student oyster card. Now I am scared........ do you guys think will i get a criminal offense?
16. I took out a picture loan in 2006 have “Payment Protector Insurance” which is a hefty sum of £17,714 for the insurance alone. It states on the loan agreement that it is optional but I was told that I would not get the loan unless I had the insurance Also I have had 3 payments back from picture for non claiming within 5 years can I claim the rest back? Thank You
17. Hope this is the right place to post for this! If you took out a secured loan with insurance, and the company didn't make it clear to you that this would be treated as an additional loan (the insurance part of things), has this been mis-sold?
18. Hi I am new to this so please bear with me. I have been trying to find out some information regarding Picture home loans (now Webb Resolutions) and the legality of the loan in the first place. I took out a loan with Picture back in February 2007 and fell into arrears within 6 months. Got back on track for a while but have been struggling for about 3 years now since my husband was made redundant. We have filled in at least 3 income and expenditure requests and have offered to make a nominal payment but they have ignored this and just want the arrears plus the normal monthly payments. I have been a bit slow on the uptake of weather the original credit agreement is legal or not as I did not want to be one of those people who takes out a loan and then tries to get out of it. We are in serious financial hardship at the moment and now have an 8 month old child. We successfully reclaimed our PPI on this loan about 3 years ago which is what we used to pay off the previous arrears. Please could someone give me some advice. Many Thanks
19. What I would ultimately like to know is if I can get some recompense for these issues. Issue initially reported on the 27th May regarding poor picture quality on only the following channels. ITV1+1 and ITV1HD Channels ITV2/3 and 4 are fineIt also occurs on Channel4+1 and Channel4 HD but not E4 or E4+1 Since reporting it on their site I was contacted by a rep and not sure what they done but been fine since. In the last two days it has reaered its ugly head its absolutely horrendous, trying to watch the French Open Fnal on ITV 1 and again poor been likes this for a few days now.. This is obviously not an issue with my TV nor my box as this is only occuring on ITV1/ITV1+1 and ITV HD.and also seems to be a common issue with others on the virgin forum for other subscibers around the country, there doesnt seem to be a geographical link. I trade a lot on sports and at present I cannot trade if I cannot watch the sport without such distortion. Further to this Spain v Italy is on later and my home team of Ireland v Crotia, both games that I will trade on and more so want to see my country play and I am obviously not going to be able to do this, nor does it look like I will be able to watch half the games of the Euros now. Not only is it effecting a side income of mine but more importantly is destroying my enjoyment of a sport I love and am incapable of watching. He is some pictures for you hope you enjoy them like I am enjoying the tennis! 27th May pictures: http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/801/img00004201205272005.jpg/ http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/36/img00005201205272005.jpg/ And todays tennis pictures http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/850/img00014201206101415.jpg/ http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/221/img00022201206101417.jpg/ http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/401/img00021201206101417.jpg/ http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/710/img00012201206101404.jpg/ Any help appreciated
