  1. Hi guys, help please, I have received a parking charge notice from parking eye, at Asda Wrexham. It offers a discount if paid within 14 days. should I pay this? What a diabolical trick! such nice way to thank you for spending your hard earned cash with Asda!
  2. got a pcn on my windscreen yesterday at asda newton abbot . Iwas working on site and didnt think i needed parking ticket . my van is a lease van and iam wondering whats my next move . i have seen a couple of other posts about the same site . they have had sucsess with letters .any ideas
  3. Hoping someone can help me, i have made a genuine mistake but reading through other threads, believe i could escape fine as PE might be operating without correct compliance on site. 1 The date of infringement? 28 November 2018 2 Have you yet appealed to the parking company yet? [Y/N?] No have you received a Notice To Keeper? (NTK) [must be received by you between 29-56 days] what date is on it Did the NTK provide photographic evidence? Not yet received 3 Did the NTK mention Schedule 4 of the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012 (PoFA) [Y/N?] Not yet received 4 If you appealed after receiving the NTK, did the parking company give you any information regarding the further appeals process? Not appealed 5 Who is the parking company? ParkingEye 6. where exactly [Carpark name and town] did you park? Newton Abbot ASDA It's early but i don't want to put a foot wrong. Note: I had a pretty crappy experience (phoned ASDA to enquire about a service they offer, was encouraged to travel there, they didn't have the proper staff to provide sufficient service, offered me product at half price (was a smeared cake) which i declined) So i am thinking of writing to ASDA's local store manager and Head Office to complain and get a pardon that way.
  4. Can I quickly ask for confirmation for what I have read up on..... If the Notice To Keep (printed out/stuck to screen) doesnt include a duration of contravention then the notice is invalid? Many thanks. No ANPR on the way in or out.
  5. Morning all, 1st time posting here. On Friday we have received one of the notorious parking eye letter indicating we overstayed in an Aldi carpark Gillingham from 6:10pm on the 14th June until 7:10am the following morning. It is a classic case of double dipping, with their ANPR missing both the 1st exit at approx. 6:30pm, and the 2nd entry at approx. 7:05am on the 15th, but no way of proving this. All suggestions welcome.
  6. Just thought people might like to know that the first time we used the Asda Scan & Go system we found that the total price on the scanner was less than the total price at the checkout ! The scanner had correctly deducted for a multi-buy offer but the checkout hadn't - so best to watch out for price discrepancies between the hand scanner and the checkout. Unfortunately both units do not show the price at the same time - so you have to remember what the scanner shows before the checkout process. Had quite a job getting staff to sort the mess out - and in fact they didn't - but we got the better of them ! Right, you can move this thread to wherever you want cos I've not got a bloody clue!
  7. V. simple story, went to my local Asda, picked up two items @£7 each, put one in my jacket pocket as I took out my wallet, paid for one item, walked out, stopped at the door by RLP, went into their 'office', asked did I know why I had been stopped? ''No, not at all?''.... Asked to empty pocket, on realising what was in there, told them that I have a brain injury and that I fully intended to pay for everything I selected, just didn't have enough hands hence putting one item into my pocket, then forgot the item I had placed in my pocket. Signed the scrap of paper, only to be told that it was a lifetime ban?? Beg your pudding??? You're going to attempt to ban a customer who admitted, then paid for, an item, that they placed in their pocket, but forgot until you came and reminded them of? Is it worth the time and effort writing the manager to ask for forgiveness and allow me entry into his salubrious store, or just wing it and think no more of it in the hope no RLP staff recognise me in future........??
  8. A couple of days ago, I walked into asda with the intention of taking 2 chewing gums from a 45p packet and I did, I also stuck it down my trousers. The security guard caught me and took me to a room and made me sign a letter saying I'm banned from asda, but told me that's the end of it and nothing else will happen. Today I got a letter from dwf saying I have to pay £125 as some civil matter and it's nothing to do with any legal action asda had taken or may take. Do I actually have to pay this as I was promised nothing else would happen and paying dwf doesn't seem right as the matter is between me and asda over a 5 minute interaction. I know I am in the wrong but I'm just wondering do I have to pay this before I do. I'm 16 living in Brent, London.
  9. Hi Everyone, Can you please help me as I got a Parking Charge notice while I was shopping in Asda with my son who is 1. I didn’t have change for the ticket machine and by the time I sorted my son out who was kicking up a stink about the trolley I forgot to go and get the ticket. After I came out I realized I had received the ticket stuck to my window. I have approached the Store Manager who said they have nothing to do with the parking as its not owned by them (which is a load of rubbish) I also asked him for the details of the land owner and he said he does not have that information (again another fob off) then said he sees me there all the time so I must be aware that I need to buy a ticket!!!! Ok I’m a regular and you just fob me off - so much for customer appreciation!!! I have not received anything in the mail yet as it’s not 14 days since this - what is my next step? I do have the till receipt that matches the Parking Notice. Thank you so much in advance
  10. Hi, I have a default which I am still paying albeit a very small amount a month, the date of the default is 19.5.10. It has been sold on several times. In December they started returning my payments, I have only made one payment since, this week I have received another letter to say its been sold again, and to contact them to make an arrangement to pay. In May this year should the default be erased from my credit file. If I am still paying it how does that reflect on my credit file? or can I just stop paying it. My credit file hasn't been updated on this debt since 12/15. I have never signed an arrangement to pay, I tried to arrange one, years ago and they refused the arrangement, however I continued to pay it regardless. However it still appears as a default not an ATP. I would appreciate any advice on what I can expect to happen. thank you
  11. Hello, I've read several cases on this forum and found most of them similar to mine, except the amount of money DWF wants from me. So I'll start from beginning. A month ago I found out how to trick self-checkout I've used this "trick" 4 - 5 times tops, and only to buy necessary groceries to survive until next paycheck and totally regret my actions. The amount of money barely would reach £70. I suspect, that they have tracked me down, by noticing repetitive entries on their system Since I am employed in a restaurant which is situated inside ASDA's premises, security informed police where to find me. Police then came to my work with pictures from CCTV asking to confirm that this is me in that photo. Police also told me that I am under suspicion for shoplifting and therefore I am banned from the store. As a result of that, I've got suspended from work for an indefinite time, until this matter with ASDA is resolved. Several days ago I spoke to my managers and asked if they heard anything back from ASDA or police about the progress on the case, they said that ASDA has collected all the necessary evidence and passed to police which will probably prosecute me for fraudulence or fraud. Also, I've been told to expect police visit at my house soon, but it's been a month, since 2nd November. And I have never been interviewed neither by ASDA or police about this matter. On 25th November, I have received a letter from DWF stating that they are solicitors acting on behalf of ASDA and asking to pay an enormous amount of money for stolen goods and standard amount for security costs(£125). Of course, 7 days to pay the outstanding balance to avoid further actions. Second sheet has FAQ and the last sheet says that THEY are waiting for payment or response. I have not replied yet and I am not planning to. I am shocked! It's physically impossible to steal goods for such amount of money. I think they have a roulette with amounts of money to beg for. I suspect, it might be influenced by a poor relationship between ASDA and the restaurant I'm working for and they are trying to rip their rival's employee. My main concern is the amount of money, which is £10 000. On what grounds? And should I wait for a response from police or court before even thinking of replying to DWF? So, I assume this might be an interesting case for you, guys. Thank you in advance for any feedback.
  12. A couple of weeks ago I was accused of fraud in Asda, taken to a room and the police were called. They said it was fraud that I had been buying stuff that was cheaper elsewhere to get their asda price guarantee vouchers, then returning the items after using the vouchers (Nothing in t&cs about returning goods). When the police arrived asda staff/security tried to make out the vouchers were fake, that I'd made them myself. Not true, they were legit ones and police said not fraud, no crime committed and I was let go. (they took all the apg's I had on me and my asda gift cards, and banned from all asda stores) A week or so later and I got a letter from DWF saying they are working on asda's behalf asking for a sum of £125 for "security costs". (the goods stolen/damaged and cash stolen amounts were £0) I've read other threads on here about DWF, but nothing recent. I have so far ignored the letter (6 days since I received it), but thought about emailing them to ask for a breakdown of the security costs. Is this a worthwhile thing to pursue? I'm in Scotland too, if that makes any legal difference. Thanks in advance. For clarification it was Asda who took the vouchers and gift cards, NOT the police. And it was asda that banned me.
  13. Dear Mr Clarke This morning I took my first visit to one of your stores alongside my Mother. 49 High St, West End, Southampton, Hampshire SO30 3DQ I was impressed with the layout, the presentation and despite a few availability issues probably due to the "Fresh Delivery" that had just arrived was generally impressed with my visit at that stage. The member of staff who was replenishing the delivery displayed excellent customer service and even went to search the delivery for one of the fresh "Gluten free" products that we required. Even though it was not there, the effort was appreciated. Unfortunately Despite all this effort and attention to detail, it was undermined at the self service checkout. After doing my mothers shopping, I had 4 items from 3 different product lines for my personal shopping. This was the Smokey BBQ Chicken Wrap and 3 x Cup a soups. When scanning through the till I noticed after I sub-totaled that the final price was not correct. Upon checking the totals again it appeared that the Soups were scanning through at £1.19 and not the £1 that was marked on the dump bin. For reference the dump bin was filled to the top of these "Cup A Soups" with two a4 size signs saying £1 marked in red. Very catchy! At this point I called over the staff member to alert her to the problem. I took her to the dump bin and she removed the signs and accessed the till to correct the price for me. It is then that she noticed the wrap had a £2 sticker on it that even I had missed and corrected that price too. Again Her service was fantastic and I cannot fault her service. My concerns are that Has I been shopping with more items and not noticed the mistake myself, or had a bigger shop then this overcharge may have gone unnoticed. I am usually good on picking up details and even I missed the mistake with the wrap. A large number of the demographic in that area are elderly shoppers one being my Grandma who may well not have been in the position to spot the errors. This obviously leaves me with some concern especially as essentially I was nearly overcharged for 4 out of my 4 items! that 100% failure rate. What is important to me when I shop are the normal things. Quality Price Presentation Convenience and Trust. I trust that procedures are in place to prevent me being overcharged. As in this case price checking and POS checking routines appeared not to have been followed or a technical error has occurred. This means I would now not trust the companies price checking procedures and be inconvenienced by double checking everything every time I purchase. This obviously makes the shopping trip even more inconvenient and makes it more than likely I will return to one of your competitors which wastes everything that was good about the visit. I would be grateful if you could arrange for this situation to be investigated and efforts and action taken to restore my faith in ASDA. I would also be grateful if my positive comments could be shared with the team that actually delivered excellent service. In order to assist your investigation I have attached a scan copy of my receipt. I also hope you find my comments useful in helping to continue to maintain and improve standards. Yours Sincerely Mr BLOBBY
  14. Hi, I received a letter from horizon parking about 4 months ago saying that I had overstayed in the car park by about 7/8 hours, I wrote to them to appeal saying that I had not stayed that long when I had actually gone in earlier in the morning then came back in the afternoon as well I don't think the camera caught me going out or back in only caught me coming in the morning and going out in the evening it looked like I had stayed for the full time there. They asked me for receipts to prove I had been in but who actually keeps receipts. I asked a friend what to do and ignored the reply and now I've received this letter from Debt Recovery Plus saying I need to pay them. What is the best option for me as I don't want to pay the fine as it's definitely not my fault. Will they take me to court?
  15. I kid you not. I do it all the time, this time there was a trout on the out of date shelf going for the pricely sum of 10p! So I decided to take a photo of it and post it on twitter with the line 10p trout! for a laugh, because I'm a bit silly. No sooner had I taken the photo though before one of the staff came up to me and said he was afraid he was going to ask me to delete the photo as they don't permit taking photos of stock or prices or something. I was like, are you have a laugh mate? Is Jeremy Beadle hiding round the corner? Nope, he was serious and when I said no he then said that he was going have to ask me to leave, and as I walked away he picked up his radio to call security. I whizzed round and pick up the item I was after, paid for it and left before security could apprehend me. Who knows what happened with security, I expect the guy was on the other end of the phone saying "you want me to what? Kick someone out for taking a photo of a fish?" So there it is, your funny That's Life story for the evening. Interesting to see if they let me back in, maybe I can make some money selling the story to The Sun. I suppose I was wondering as well, where the law stands with regards to this? I do this all the time, normally to take a photo of something I might be interested in buying. But the fish, no. I'm vegetarian!
  16. But; No doubt ' Meet the new car park management company... Same as the old car park management company. ' http://clients3.weblink.com.au/clients/smartparking/headline.aspx?headlineid=6756685
  17. A mother, furious at waiting more than 48 hours for her online shopping, stormed into her local Asda and took it from the shelves herself. Danni Leadbeater, 30, ordered a £50 shop from the supermarket for herself and her two young children last week. However, it failed to turn up twice after her order was cancelled by the store and then re-booked. And after waiting more than two days, and being charged twice for it, she took matters into her own hands. She went into the Eastlands superstore, opposite Manchester City’s Etihad Stadium and began taking the items from the shelves and piling them into a trolley. After a stand-off with staff and security, and an intervention from the company’s HQ, she was eventually allowed to leave without paying for it again. However she has slammed the store for the way she was treated and has vowed never to shop with them again, reports Manchester Evening News. Full Story
  18. Hi, On 24 Feb 2016, I got PCN pasted on my car's windscreen with the reason 'No Valid Ticket'. That was handwritten PCN issued by patrol officer No. TEMP1. I dont know what sort of TEMP1 is who issued this ticket. I was not aware of paying for parking which could be claimed back on till. I did some shopping at that time and paid through my credit card. I brought that PCN along with my shopping receipt to customer services and requested them to cancel it out but they refused, I spoke with patrol officer but he also refused to cancel it out. I went back to ASDA Customer Service to try again, on second refusal I did protest, returned back all of my shopping and told them that this was my last visit to ASDA. I also told them that I will not only write this to ASDA Headoffice but also will put this on social media websites that how ASDA butchering their loyal customers who take pain to come to their store. It is very unjust that if mistake is been done by ASDA, they just say sorry for inconvenience, but if customer makes any unintentional mistake he is been charged. In my opinion this is totally unfair that you have reserved parking for customers but still penalizing them. On ticket, fine was showing £70 / £40 but when I checked detail of PCN on smart website it was showing £60 / £30. Luckily before moving ahead, I visited this consumer forum and learnt that I can get my self out of this issue and I can save my hard earned money from these hungry giants. AA
  19. Does anyone have a UK contact number/email for ASDA home shopping? I have been trying to get a refund on items missing from our shopping delivered 29 Sept but no one seems to want to do it and it's getting a bit silly now. I've called the number 3 times now and still no refund as well as using the online form and just had a call today from the most unhelpful woman based in South Africa who refused to let me discuss my wife's account unless I answered security correctly - which I did (they needed the email address on the account and my wife has just the one and they claim it's not the one, but it is as I have just checked it). This is despite me being the only one in contact with them and even calling me on my own mobile phone. Hopefully I can get some sort of contact from someone in the UK as after 2 failed refunds and suspecting the person on the 3rd call was simply trying to get rid of me when he said someone will call me back - I'm starting to get a little fed up. Thanks Lee
  20. Basically we visitied ASDA done the weekly shop and had the elderly Mother-in-Law with us and my partner had to wait at the Pharmacy to have her flu jab done and we think this parking fine is not fair, where do we stand? thanks for removing attachment uploaded wrong one didn't realize, sorry.
  21. She appealed to Smart with the same mitigating circumstance and they told her to pay. A complaint to the principle who hired the [problem] gets the charge cancelled.... http://www.itv.com/news/meridian/2015-09-23/mother-fined-70-because-she-stayed-in-asda-car-park-after-doing-her-shopping-to-breastfeed-baby-daughter/?ref=yfp
  22. Hi everyone. Ordered asda groceries as always, they didn't turn up yesterday. 40 minutes later I rang up they said they said it had been cancelled reasons unknown. They promised the local store would ring me back to try and squeeze it in that day, as payment had gone through. Checked online banking and confirmed they had taken payment. Didn't ring me so I rang them, they apologised, said they would send shopping tomorrow. Got shopping today, however they have taken money a second time. Delivery driver said loads of orders got cancelled yesterday for same reason. Phoned asda, they said if I get the authorisation number and fax number of NatWest, they will fax them so I can get an instant refund. Otherwise the money is held temporarily for 7-10 days. NatWest gave me the authorisation code, but won't provide a fax number to the public and say their mechant provider (streamline) has the fax number. Phoned back asda, they demand fax number, I merge them on a new call with NatWest, who put me through to card errors deparment. Natwest now say they cannot even act on a fax, it is completely asda's fault and up to them to get me my money back. Asda will not do anything without this fax number. Their manager just went round and round in circles. They will not let me go into the store and have cash or do me a bank transfer. They say after 7-10 days I would have the money twice. At the end of the day, I am out of pocket by £76. It is a weekend we are supposed to be taking the kids out today. We are now stuck. This is absolutely unacceptable I have to wait for this long banking process to resolve itself. Asda will not provide any sort of goodwill gesture. Surely there must be something I can do to get these funds quicker. Why should we have to suffer? I have recorded the entire call (over an hour plus 6 other calls totalling another hour) its quite comical to here how this manager, asdas highest point of contact, is so simply minded. If I went into a shop and made the mistake of not paying for the shopping, then promise to pay them in 10 working days, they would insist this is stealing. How come it is acceptable the other way round? Sorry for the rant I am livid right now. Does anyone have any advice? Thanks so much
  23. Hi, I bought a lamb leg of ASDA a few months ago and after my wife cooked it I went to carve it and found out the meat was bad the product was in date so I took it to the adsa I purchased it from they said they will send it to asda house for investigation and I will get feedback I filled out my personal details in the logging book after 5 weeks I didn't hear anything so I called asda house and found out it was not sent in for investigation. this concerned me as it looks like they hiding something my kids could of eaten this they told me to contact asda store where I took it too I did that but no answer called asda house they told me I will get a call back this has been on going for 3 months now now they just offered me a tenner I feel they just want to hide the fact that they messed up I refused as this could of harmed my kids/family and how they going to fix there errors by just saying heres a tenner? so now I want to get legal advise and not sure how to proceed so if anyone can help it would be appreciated.
  24. We've had two letters today First letter: Notice to owner date of contravention : 27/01/2015 letter dated: 02/03/2015 received by us : 11/04/2015 Apparently we parked in a parent & child bay with no children, we do have two children under 6 but cant say for certain if they were or were not present ( though child car seats would have been visible within the car regardless ) amount: £70 second letter Debt Recovery Plus date of notice: 09/04/2015 received by us: 11/04/2015 demanding payment of £120.00 no later than 23/04/2015 Both letters have arrived today, almost three months after our contravention who would I write to and what would I write, I recall a template of an appeal here but cant locate it. many thanks
