  1. Please dont indistress you are putting yourself up for more distress I know a person who revealed to me that they had taken 6 yes 6 PDLs in 2 months almost ruined a relationship too. I am currently helping them out and am getting there. Be glad they will not give you a loan. Take note of their 2500 percent interest.
  2. I would like to add that sometimes cancelling the card and ordering a new one does not stop them taking money from your account as my wife and Nat West can verify. She had a penny in her account and they managed to take out 3 pounds putting her 2.99 overdrawn and NW said there would be charges for being overdrawn. NW couldnt explain how it was allowed to happen, but closed the account at our request and refunded the OD charges. To the OP, I am sure there is something about then taking money and thus "putting you into hardship" as a result on a thread here. WONGA are getting a very bad name here.

  4. Top Darts!! good to hear some positive end results
  5. Surely anything older than 6 years is irrelevant if its not on my Equifax file. RBS say it something about another default on my Equifax file in their replies.
  6. Thnx wino, as I said the worst on my credit file is the Vodafone default, there is a "dead" mortgage on there about 5years old that hasnt been updated by the mortgage company GMAC thats shows mortgage payment problems a long time ago tho. Nothing on my report re re any other defaults
  7. No I have access to my credit report cos of this thread here http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/credit-reference-agencies/244423-turned-down-employment.html I was told that I can request my report as many times as I want (I pay 6 quid a month for the pleasure) and that these requests do not show on my report. So how would the DCAs get to know wino???
  8. I applied for and was successful in getting a job with RBS (in the insurance side, not the bank) "subject to pre employment checks" During the telephone interview and at the face to face interview I told them about a Vodafone default for 150 pounds due to be wiped December this year. I was told that this shouldnt be a problem both times. Anyhow, 2 weeks before the job started I hadnt heard anything so I emailed one of the interviewers, who replied "I do apologise, I thought our recruitment team had contacted you. Unfortunately you did not pass our pre employment screening due to adverse information from the credit searches. I have not been given any more information than this.I have been informed to advise you to obtain a copy of your credit file (Equifax) and that this will confirm the reason for the decision." Having access to my credit file, I couldnt see anything untoward and queried this with RBS. The reply "We have re- issued the decline letter to xxdxxxx. We can only advise that he looks again at his equifax report as ours clear shows the default payment." I emailed them saying they knew about the Vodafone default with the reply " I can confirm that this is not as a result of the Vodafone default. I have been advised to inform you to carry out a thorough check of your credit history ensuring you enter all of your previous addresses.I regret to inform you that we are unable to reconsider your application and that this is our final decision. I replied that I have been living at my new address 17 years and that anything at my previous address is null and void. The reply "We/I are unable to divulge any more than this. You will need to look into further." Sorry for all that, Now, I dont have the foggiest Idea why I have been turned down. RBS will not tell me why I was turned down, my credit file has the Vodafone default on it and nothing worse than a default. I cant contact Equifax by telephone also what do I ask?? Looks fine to me but not to RBS Any Suggestions will be welcome
  9. Stacey I believe they cant cold call and must agree an appointment with you (which you never have to agree to) so if your in dont answer, keep in control and inform them that you will only deal with them postaly if thats a word, If you do answer tell them they are tresspassing and to communicate via mail only

OK What I intend to do is.... Ring them tell them my mort is going up £220 a month and cant afford an increase, that my current payments WILL clear my debt in 10 yrs , they have it wrong so calling their bluff, if they dissagree then I will CCA them. Will ask how long since my account has been running, older the better methinks But if you think this is wrong pls tell me but make sure you read all this thread first

    Help with #MBNA

Ta for info Pinky69 reading other threads on here some have been advised to wait for the CCA until MBNA pass the debt on, (more chance of agrreement dissapearing??) so im confused. As it stands all they have done is asked for a increase which i shall tell them I cant afford. Wouldnt CCA ing them accelerate the process? I am having to sell my house because of debt and mort going up £220, do I need extra grief at this moment??
  12. Hmm they also offered me "I see you are eligible for a loan" " do you have any other cc cards you would like cleared? Me "Surely my repaments would be more than I am paying now???" Them " If they think you cant afford it they wont offer it" Crazy Part of MBNAs latest stratedgy to off load "difficult accounts?????? http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/debt-collection-industry/136347-mbna-putting-preessure-reduced.html

Goldlady That was what I was thinking from the start of the plan. Stupid that my payments WILL pay off the debt within the 10 years so that is a waste of paper.

    Help with #MBNA

Well that is remarkable too when I paid my normal payment yesterday they told me I was "eligible for a loan" and you must have other CCs to clear, have you thought about having a loan?. Isaid the loan monthly repayment would prob be more than I pay now. Anyone come up with an answer to the "10 year period" in my first post???

    Help with #MBNA

Hi I have been on a reduced Payment on my MBNA Credit card. Repayments were based on my submitted income and expenditure form and a payment amount was agreed, interest has been frozen. I have paid ontime. Ok received a letter today re the agreement " I refer to the reduced payment-- which has been accepted in recognition of your financial difficulties "Please be advised any such concession requires your O/S balance to be paid within a 10 yr period, A recent review has highlighted that current level of payment is insufficient to clear the balance within this timeframe. Therefore we request an increase in your monthly minimum payment to allow this concession to continue. If you are unable to agree to increase the payments, this programme will cease in 30 days and interest and fees will apply as stated in your terms and conds. To discuss a new reduced payment plan AND prevent recovery action call etc. Failure to contact will result in termination of current agreement without further notification" OK a couple of Qs When does this 10 year period start???, as if it starts from the agreement 6 months ago my current monthly payments will pay of the os debt within 10 years??? My Mortgage is to go up by £220 a month from next month so any increase in payment is a strict no / no so they will rip up the agreement Why did THEY ask me to provide a i/c and exp form then, 6 months ago, (incidently I upped the agreed amount from what I was previously paying under a previous agreement) and now cancel it if I dont up my payments. Or was it a onesided agreement with no time period? Are MBNA doing an EGG and ditching their bad risk people?? Id be interested to know if this could be the start of MBNAs EGG solution??? Sorry for the length Im sure there will be more Qs to come, If you want me to clarify anything or have Qs please ask, This post is intended to prepare me for anything MBNA have planned Ta for all your help DELBOY
  18. Expecting probs with MBNA any day now but will start another thread, Just wanted to know how MBNA got your work address and relatives telephone numbers???
  19. Is there one here? or can anyone recommend a friendly forum that deals with handling mortgage arrears as im just about to get into difficulties. It would be wonderful if there is a forum around that can advise myself and other people of their rights when dealing with mortgage arrears and mortgage payment chasing companies. If it worked like this place has helped me and others reclaim bank charges then that would be the tops !!!! Delboy

  21. Dave I would consider wasted time costs Which I got from Barcs, ask the judge to consider WTCs when you send the court a letter of settlement. Ring the court up a few days later and see what the judge has commented. I had to go to the mercantile court to argue my case for WTCs Barc didnt turn up mind.... ( examples of them wasting your time, breaking deadlines, oh and the wasting of valuable court time.
