  1. Sorry I misread your thread Josie, I think direct transfer is ok.
  2. I think it is safer to set up a standing order NOT a direct debit as I think they can change the amount payable with a direct debit. If you answer phone, dont clarify 'security' details then they cant go any further. Clarity DCA phoned me the other day (tuesday) and I explained that I would like to correspond by email only. I expalined I had sent an email on saturday and clarity had not yet responded to it. The man on the phone said to me 'all the more reason that I talk to you now" and I replied 'no, all the more reason you respond to my email" they still havent responded despite saying they will respond in 2-3 working days, 5 working days have now passed. Thats how urgent it is. Dont be bullied by phone calls and continue to pay what you can afford by standing order. Even when they wont agree to payment offers and they wont set up a repayment plan, they cant refuse your payment so keep paying. - You are in control- not them. ! Good luck, it is a great relief to take control. I am in it with you.
  3. I have been with CCCS for two years and I think they are great. Every penny I pay comes off my debts and I have a monthly statement from them to show this. Thye pay all my DCA with no hassle. I would highly recommend them , I have reduced my debts by £2000 in the past two years and found CCCS really helpful, they are a government run charity I believe who help financilally distressed families. They have definitely helped me.
  4. Brownstone, One last thought. If your original loan was £650 and you have made two payments of £100. You do not owe more than £800 as the phone call told you. Just keep track of your balance and dont pay a penny more. they are trying it on. So it is £650( original loan) + interest + £59 default fee, minus £200.(you paid) - keep a written record of payments made and it will also appear on your bank statement.
  5. You are unlikely to get a CCJ simply because you are not refusing to pay. If you did get a CCJ , you fill in a form stating your offer of e.g £5 per month, then the court accepts it. you then make your payment to a solicitor and carry on. It is not a criminal offence to be in debt but a civil offence. Pay day loans are unsecured debts so they are not a priority in the eyes of the court. Payday loan companoes dont usually pursue a ccj because their interest rates are unjustifiable. Never pay more than the original loan + one months interest- swift sterling add £59 defult fee to that then it never goes up. I got a loan for £620, interest was £185 then they added £59 fee. My total balance was £864. I now owe £815. You probably already know this but Cancel your debit card- report it lost otherwise they will take your money. Good luck
  6. It is very upsetting to be spoken to without consuideration by phone , therefore never talk on phone, always email, then you have proof of trying to resolve your debt. The people who phone are not interested in your personal circumstances or the stress you are under, they think they can bully you into paying. They have no idea that you may be sitting there with no electric or food. Look after yourself and family first. Set up a standing order to swift sterling and pay something small every month, ignore all phone calls and politely reply to letters by email. Swift sterling bank details are Account no: 00744802 sort code; 30-00-09 reference- important- your personal loan number- 8 digits long
  7. Hello, Well I didnt settle three payday loans by may which I had stupidly thought I could. I now pay my payday loans £5 per month by standing order. Swift sterling passed my debt to clarity- Do not speak to them on the phone, they are so rude and talk to you like a piece of ****. If clarity call me, I will not confirm my personal details then they cant go any further. A woman at clarity told me if I didnt pay in full there and then a warrent of execution will be issued. I explained that she is lying because that can only be issued if you default on a county court judgement then she accused me of saying I was refusing to pay. I continue to pay £5 a month to swift sterling direct and emailed clarity to tell them what I was doing- haven't heard from them since. IGNORE clarity threats of doorstep collectors and warrents of execution- just pay what you can afford to swift sterling- that's all you can do. Good luck
  8. You are right that the agent was harrassing your wife at work- totally out of order, just make payments you can afford by phone from now on.
  9. Just to make you aware, about five years ago, provident did give me a county court judgement and I had to pay edrupt solicitors. all paid up now.
  10. a debt relief order may be right for you, cccs will advise.
  11. If I were you, I would contact the cccs- consumer credit counselling service which is a government run charity for financially distressed people. They will give you advice and guidance about what to do. http://www.cccs.co.uk I think you should pay £1 token payment to show you are willing to take responsibility for your debt, but pay it to natwest, the original creditor. I would ignore apex. I have been ignoring all my debt collection agencies and continuing to pay the original creditors small payments. I would ignore all phone calls and communicate in writing only- such as email. Good luck
  12. Thanks for your advice, I thought the same thing. I believe the payment I am making now goes to Fredrickson. The letter I recieved was from Bryan carter staing their client is arrow global Shall I cca fredrickson??
  13. Back soon. Im just hunting the house for my credit report which I recently got.
  14. Hello I have an old catalogue debt, it was either with Studio cards or littlewoods. I have been paying 5 pound (pound key doesnt work!!) a month for years. I got a letter today from Bryan Carter requesting that I phone them to review the repayments. (I Will definitely NOT be phoning them). They state in the letter that their client is Arrow Global Guernsey, who I now know is a debt buyer. My balance is now 751.50. It is more than six years old but Ive been paying it so I believe it is not SB. I was thinking of sending a CCA to Aroow Global- do you think this is worth doing?? Im grateful for any advice. Thank you
  15. This is definitely harrassment, theoretically, it could lead to you losing your job. Report them to the financial ombusdman. I had the same hassle from a loan company financial plus. I wrote to the financial ombusdman who wrote to financial plus. By law they have to respond to you within so many days. After I reported them, the calls stopped. It is harassment, causing you unnecessary stress at work. It is not a crime to be in debt. It is sio bad when they call you at work.
  16. As Cadbury said. Cancel your debit card, report it lost immediately so the payday loans ant take your wages. check that no DD have bee nset up on your account. Pay ONLY by standing order, otherwise they will help themselves. Good Luck
  17. Dont get into further debt, payday loans are not priority debts so just default this month and pay them what you can afford - say 10 pound each. If you get a consolodation loan - you will be paying back for ages. just try and become debt free, then you income will be all yours. with poor credit, the only loans you will get are really high interest -Not worth it! good luck
  18. I defaulted on SS in March 2011. My debt is 825 pounds (pounds key doesn't work!!) They wouldnt accept repayment. They have now passed to clarity debt collections who said I can pay a full and final settlement of 577 pounds over the next two months. I said I couldn't afford that, so at the moment I have agreed to pay 50 a month, but not sure if I will keep it up. c;arity were fine to deal with. I got a text from SS saying my debt has been passed to clarity and clarity responded by letter to me. It will all be fine in the end
  19. When and if IQOR do ring you. They always start by saying who they are representing (paypal) then they will ask you to confirm security details such as your name etc, If you say you are not going to answer the security questions they then say that they can't discuss your account with you. - Bizarre isn't it?? I did this to IQOR yesterday who said I owed ebay £23 when I checked my ebay account I actually owed £14.95 Are you sure they havent added a charge into the £34 they are requesting from you!!
  20. a Couple of years ago, I paid quick quid and payday uk through a DMp, £20 per month. I have now finished those loans. Last month I defaulted on Wage day Advance £425 pounds2day £350 swift sterling £850 Lending Stream £450 Lending stream £260 Wda will not set up repayment plan -they are NASTY!. I paid £20 last month by standing order and I am going to continue to do so, even though they will not accept and keep ringing me, emaling me and texting asking for bank statements which I will NOT provide as I dont want them to have my bank details and there is no legal requirement. Lending stream have not hassled me, just a text and one phone call where they were agrred to email me and set up a reapyment plan of £20 per month. swift sterling are very relaxed and said my balance is now frozen, no more interest will be added- which I am very pleased about. They said it will be passed to a DCA, but I will just continue to pay them anyway and ignore DCA. Pounds2day contacted me once by text then another company text me and asked me to contact them -which I didn't, about this loan. I have set up a standing order for each payday loan of £20 per month, Swift sterling £50 a month. I am ignoring all phone calls and DCA ( none have come round -but I would still ignore) and I will continue to pay the PDL company direct until my debts are paid. Even if it gets passed to a DCA I will continue to pay my SO to the PDL company. I think Quick quid will be a pain because on this forum people have said they only set up a repayment plan over three months and if you can't do that ,they won't accept , but just get their paying in details and keep paying them anyway even if they dont agree to repayment plan, just pay what you can afford, any payment is better than no payment- another stepping stone to being debt free. rememeber QQ accepted my payments of £20 on a DMP with CCCS so it is possible.
  21. You would have had the opportunity to apply for more time to fill in form (28 days) but that option has now passed as it should have been before 14 days were up!! As you have now passed the 14 day deadline, the claimant can now apply for a judgement in default which means they can demand the full amount and fees of the CCj which is binding as your side of the story has not been heard, as you missed the deadline. You may be able to get a default judgment set aside. This may be possible if you never received the documents, or were in hospital and didn’t know they’d arrived. You’ll be expected to prove these facts, and pay a fee. have a look at this website for more info: http://www.trustonline.org.uk/understand-judgments-fines/default-judgments/ Have you still got the online form or do you know which court?? Good Luck
  22. Well done, you will feel a great relief. I did it last month and paid my rent and council tax on time for the first time in months. Everything will be ok, I look forward to your updates. Good Luck
  23. Very similar though - easy mistake !! Lending stream emailed me today and were really nice, they sent me their bank details to pay by standing order. LENDING STREAM SORT CODE: 20-19-90 LENDING STREAM ACCOUNT NUMBER: 13434028
