  1. ptol, He gave up on that sector after trying to secure work, even volunteered with the Princes Trust, but it made no difference. As said, he is now on the motor vehicle course at college and we are hoping to move to an area with more prospects but the lack of work is a concern.
  2. Hi all, I have just noticed this thread even though I have been on CAG for a few months. basically my main account is with Halifax and I too am having to pay these daily overdraft charges of £2 and have been doing since they implemented them. Would it be too late to object to these charges now? I do have a parachute account but it has no O/D facility (don't really want it to have one) Would I be able to write to the Halifax at this time and object and if I can would I get anything back and/or have the account closed and pay monthly to bring my balance down? Thing is, if they request say £60 a month to clear the balance it would take quite some time and I would be no better off, or is it just best to leave it as i doubt another bank would give me that big an overdraft.
  3. Sorry to re-heat an old post but he is still having no luck finding work, the longer the application forms have a gap in employment the worse it looks, even though it is through no fault of his own. He has applied at a local holiday park so we'll see what happens, my concern is the interview as he gets nervous and stuck for words, he is going on an confidence and interviews workshop though and fingers crossed it will help.
  4. Seems to be no further word from eggbasher on this, shame because it would have been interesting to find out what happened with Egg in court.
  5. Just spoke to customer relations again, I now have to send a letter to a different address, stating where I opened the PL, for how much and when. I said that if it cannot be found they must send me confirmation that it has been destroyed. If it turns out it HAS been destroyed does that mean that's the end of my claim?
  6. I really hope they do. And if they do and they say Creation must put me in a position that I hadn't took out the PPI, how will I know if they have paid me the correct amount with interest added in etc...
  7. I received the the SAR for the last six years credit cards only, even though I specifically asked for any personal loans and other account info. I sent it to the Edinburgh South Gyle address and have just sent an email to customer relations asking where the rest of the info is. I hope this can get sorted.
  8. Today I received a letter from the FOS saying that the adjudicator has upheld my complaint against Creation, recommending that they should put me back into the position I would have been in had I not taken out the PPI plus £200 for stress and inconvenience. Unfortunately Creation have disagreed with the adjudicators decision and now it must be forwarded onto the Ombudsman. Does the Ombudsmen usually agree with the adjudicators decision and if the Ombudsman does rule in my favour and again uphold my compliant, must Creation pay up or can they refuse or ask to take it further?
  9. I have now received a questionnaire from the FOS regarding the Creation PPI, has anyone else received one of these?
  10. Regarding the original post I am shorlty going to send an SAR request to Natwest. I used to have a current account and savings with Natwest as well as the personal loan I am finding out about, I am also a Natwest credit cad holder. Will all the statements from these accounts be sent along with the details of the personal loan?
  11. Just hope it goes in my favour if it gets as far as actually going to court.
  12. Thanks rebel11, won't hurt to try, I'll pass on the info and get him to contact them. Nothing to lose.
  13. Thanks rebel11, Unfortunately they are not in our area (North Wales) We are planning to move out however, to somewhere with better prospects.
  14. Yes, but had you been to, and been rejected by the FOS first? Not being funny, it's a genuine question.
  15. My step-son has been claiming JSA for nearly three years, we have since found out what an unprofessional and poor attitude the the Job centre and their "training partner" providers have. To start at the beginning he has moderate learning difficulties, although you wouldn't know just by conversation, however, to prevent future problems he has stated this on application forms and (if anyone has heard it) it is like the advert for mental health where he puts it on one application he gets less response than if he doesn't, but as I said, he has always declared it. He attended a course for two years at college intended to help gain basic skills in the first year then look for training or employment in the second year. He is interested in cars and being a mechanic so he went down that route. The college found a placement at a well known car dealership but unfortunately he was physically and verbally bullied by two GROWN men (in their 40's) He did say he didn't like the way he was treated by them (he is shy and quiet) and told the college, they moved him to another garage but the experience put him off working in that environment. We spoke to the Job centre about the new deal for disabled people as he is also good with computers and interested in IT work. He said he would also work in retail as well as office/admin to get some experience and a reference behind him. He was given a placement in a local forum dealing with disability issues to study an NVQ in business admin, but they messed him about, starting him on the NVQ then saying they had no money to finish it. They were also offered money by the job centre to take him on but they refused, again citing no funds, he did request being placed elsewhere, with no joy. He was sent to a "training provider" who found him a job, updating their website and updating and maintaining their computers. He was successful and started, but after two days was told he was unsuitable. The reason they gave was that he couldn't unlock their second hand computers, in reality this could only be done by hiring expensive IT support as the computers were not unlocked by their previous owners, their excuse of not being suitable fell flat because they read his CV and nowhere on it does he claim to have specialised IT skills, just being able to install programs/updates etc.. What they were looking for sounds like someone on the cheap who could hopefully unlock the computers and avoid paying specialist fees. Anyway.. Now getting fed up with no success with office/admin work he is now with another provider and has started on a vehicle maintenance course at college which is acceptable to the Job Centre. He has been doing Karate for almost two years and has gained confidence and is no longer worried about being bullied. He is trying to find a placement linked to this but so far no joy. In between he has applied for jobs at KFC, McDonalds, Tesco, offices etc, with no luck. He is just being treated like a cog in the machine, getting next to no help and having to deal with everything himself, with our help where possible. Apologies for the post length but any thoughts are welcome. And can the duplicate posts be deleted please (computer problems)
  16. Hi all, Have decided (after much thought) to proceed down the MCOL route with Egg, but it will have to wait till early new year when funds permit. Should be interesting to see just what happens.
  17. I have sent the FOS complaint form to the FOS. I just put in what happened at the sale DJ, as you said, no point in lying, the fact is I was told it was free and there was no mention of the single policy with interest after a year bit. I do, unfortunately, have very little confidence in the FOS however, as I have said before. I can just see Creation hiding behind it's non-advised argument and I'll get some adjudicator who agrees with them, it's made clear in the T&C's blah blah blah....It is now just a waiting game.
  18. Sorry to bump this, but does anyone have any ideas of what I could put on the FOS form to give me more of a chance of success?
  19. O.K. then, I have decided to try the FOS route, it being free and hopefully having a better chance with a PPI reclaim. Anything I could put on the FOS form to give me more of a chance of success?
  20. Unfortunately I don't have access to a scanner at the mo, but the letter basically says: We note that you remain dissatisfied with our investigation, we have again reviewed your details but our decision is unchanged. We feel our previous response fully addresses each of my concerns, including the T&C's of a non-advised sale and that I have been re-sent all documents issued prior to my acceptance of the PPI. They ask if I have any further evidence to support the complaint to send it, or I can now go to the FOS.
  21. I have received a reply from Creation regarding the PPI reclaim and it is showing as their final response, unsurprisingly, they have rejected my reclaim and are saying that my next step is either the FOS or court. As I mentioned above, I am wary of going to the FOS as my previous dealings have not been very successful. I know the FOS is free and court costs initially, but knowing my luck, my claim will be read at the FOS by some temp drafted in to deal with the increasing workload who will just treat it like a hot potato and agree with Creation, and to add to the bargain I will probably have to wait 9 months to be told it has not been upheld. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.
  22. Seriously fed up: With regards to the reclaim I might just start MCO proceedings and see what Egg's response is and then cross each bridge (or letter) as it comes. Your point is valid, however, and I will certainly be keeping in mind all that has been said in this thread.
  23. Sorry seriously fed up, made the above quote a bit quick there, should have put in some smiley's, or made better use of punctuation, certainly didn't mean to come over as being aggressive towards you:shock:. No offence.
  24. Seriously fed up: My account is not in dispute and I the charges were as a result of me being overlimit as a result of Egg's delayed balance. This case is not in Scotland. The total amount of my claim is just over £200.
  25. Well then, spoke to the FOS team at Egg and they say they have now closed the complaint, and that I need to reopen it by starting court proceedings, they say they would not answer my secure mail about the pre and post audits because the case is now closed.
