  1. Now I've had no end of problems with the cretins at the crooked DVLA. I know only too well of their ineptitude and corruption. I've avoided as much to do with them as I can and not left anything to their incapable hands, but with this matter I have no choice. My car has been SORN for the past two years and currently is still SORN. I'm now selling my car. What do I need to do to cover every possible angle so that even the DVLA can't mess it up, I know that if I leave them any room for error they absolutely will take it.
  2. How do I get my stories in the paper? They did this to me twice! If they reported on everybody they'd done this to it would be a feature on every page, of every paper, every day!
  3. You are 100% correct Raykay. You have summarised DVLA procedures on a range of their false claims from Late Licensing Penalty to Failure to Notify. The question is how do we help put a stop to this?
  4. Yes Jimbo that would be helpful to make that public.
  5. Next Thursday, BBC1 8PM - the crooks at the DVLA are the focus of yet another episode of Watchdog, for the 10th consecutive series. Funny, I mentioned only recently in my last round of complaints to MP/PHSO etc. what a frequent and prominent feature DVLA are of so many complaints programs. They are truly the most prolific guest. What really gets me is DVLA make themselves a primary feature report on every single season of Watchdog, all the other rogue traders they appear alongside end up in jail for much smaller offences, but DVLA are the only one to feature time and time again unstoppable and untouchable allowed to get away with what they like. As you know, their tactics are well established and efficient at extorting money from people through lies and bullying threats, for every one of us who dares to challenge there's probably 100 who pay up to the escalating ruse of threats and harassment you'll receive from DVLA and their very own debt collectors. This of course is the intention, there's no innocent until proven guilty or consideration involved, you're just guilty because you've been told so. Be sure to tune in and get in contact while they're on air to make your feelings known. If it were up to me, they'd be on the show after - Crimewatch.
  6. This ought to be made a sticky - people coming here for help about DVLA trying to [problem] them over LLP is probably the most common occurrence.

    DVLA Court summons.

Yup, you can never trust a word they say - you'll know better in future and only have yourself to blame if you're not recording every encounter with them like the rest of us. Looks like they're rubbing their hands together and going to take you for all your worth. Welcome to the growing club of the victims of the DVLA. See if you can dig up any phone records of the conversation, and then seek legal advice without hesitation. Complain to your MP for assistance.
  8. Since DVLA seem to be as active as ever bullying people on false claims and more people turning up here for help, I'm just bringing this old thread back to the forefront.
  9. What a shame, it's all part of their plan not to take it to the Crown Court so that they can continue to do this to everybody else, I thought for a moment their tactics had finally not worked out how they intended and their misdeeds were going to catch up with them. A year of my life exposing them on a similar issue that I hoped would result in them not being able to continue this behaviour to others that they profit from had pretty much the same outcome - DVLA shown to be lying, cheating crooks and completely in the wrong, but nobody's going to do anything about them so they'll continue to profit from their crooked activities. I can only hope that justice will someday catch up with them another time, but until then - Paul, and anybody else, feel free to PM me and we can work to give our cases and findings more exposure - by making people aware of their rights and that the DVLA does not have a right to bully them in their single minded, amoral pursuit of profits based on a lying fraudulent pattern of behaviour.
  10. I really applaud you Paul, for challenging these crooks, I know first hand the DVLA have been acting unlawfully to extort money from innocent members of the public for far too long. I have twice been a victim of their false claims to try to bully me into paying that I have proven to be fraudulent, while their bullying tactics work on so many others, the only response from DVLA is to keep pretending like they're incapable of error - even when it's been proven they have erred. Take it all the way and don't give up for everybody's sake, and keep all results public - make sure as many people know about our victories and their defeats as possible. Write to newspapers, BBC, Sky, etc. to expose them. Their cracks are starting to become more apparent.
  11. The crooked DVLA are simply despicable.
  12. Could someone give me some information on the laws surrounding banks closing your accounts. I've combed over the terms and conditions of the bank in question but can't find any mention of it, but I'm sure there are some rules on notice they must give, return of funds, etc.
  13. DVLA probably sold it, I'm not even joking.
  14. Yes just tell them all your paper work was in order and you completed all the correct procedures, after this length of time you can't be expected to pull out a random document at will. And whatever you do, don't waste your time on Inter-Credit or even bother responding to them, I KNOW where you are with them and have had the displeasure of dealing with their useless selves, trust me they are bottom feeder DCAs and not even worth thinking about - if they're on the case it means DVLA (or anybody) doesn't really take it too seriously and they're just trying it out to see if they can bilk something out of you.
  15. They work out what the absolute most you could afford is and then rub their hands together.
  16. The DVLA have no evidence to support their false claims, therefore the DVLA find you guilty. Been there. The crooked DVLA, and their crooked minions at their crooked work as always.
  17. Here's an easy way to contact your MP by email: http://www.writetothem.com/
  18. Prison? £5000? Don't be ridiculous. The most you'll get is an Out of Court Settlement figure of around £150 IF it turns out that it's the public highway. HOWEVER, it sounds likely that it's not but DVLA may try and trick you into otherwise so they can get money out of you and they are a horror to try and deal with, they have no competence of sense or customer service about anything that doesn't involve taking payment, so don't give in if you're not in the wrong. I suggest you find out if it's considered the public highway and any evidence that may have lead you to believe it was so you can use that to counter. I strongly recommend you direct communications through your MP to the DVLA, they're not competent about anything that doesn't involve getting money and dealing with them will be a confusing headache at the best of times and torture at the worst.
  19. Just tell them you did notify them on time and they failed to update their records on time. THAT'S IT. I've been through this numerous times with numerous people, simply ignore all further communication from them after that. They have a range of ploys that they will throw at you from Debt Collection letters misrepresenting facts, threats, and more. But it will not go to court, it's completely unenforceable. Contact your MP and make a complaint to the PHSO, they have no right to come after you for this, your MP will be very helpful and is very effective at getting the DVLA to back off and pay attention. I reiterate do not reply to any further communication on the matter after you have informed them of this, because there will be more and it will be designed to wear you down, don't fall for it it's unenforceable and they don't have the right. Simply conduct all further communication through your MP via complaints because they will only mess you around any other way. Again, file a complaint with the PHSO when you're done, I encourage everybody to do this because only after enough people complain will there be forced to be some action taken against this. They do not have the right to bully people into paying these false claims, they are misrepresenting. It's no different to the PPI claims, the only difference is the banks are being forced to pay it back, when it's proven that DVLA misrepresented LLP they'll be rolling in all the money they managed to fool people into paying. PM me if you have any questions.

    The BLEEP DVLA...

Like so many of us, I have been a victim of the DVLA and their Late Licensing Penalty swindle. We know by now not to pay it, it's completely unenforceable and misrepresented by the DVLA. The funny thing is after they expect you to jump through hoops to correct their mistakes after they fail to update their records or send you an acknowledgement, when you have sent them the form that has their request to contact them on the very back of it (!) they're already telling you that it's your fault and you've been found guilty (?!) and they advise you even if the postal service fail deliver the letter it's still your fault. Here's the kicker, I've just complained to them about them not sending my certificate and they've blamed it on the postal service. So if they claim something didn't arrive from you to them it's your fault and not the postal service (god forbid it might be their fault, they are after all only the most incompetent and dishonest organisation of all time), BUT when something doesn't arrive from them to you it IS the fault of the postal service. Interesting lesson in double standards. Maybe it's because they know they can't dupe the postal service into paying their false claims, innocent members of the public on the other hand - beware!
  21. Make sure you make a complaint about this to the PHSO. DVLA are not right to bully the public this way, I've been through this several times with them and only if everybody registers complaints about them can we stand a chance of being heard against these rogue traders that front themselves as a government organisation. Common crooks is all they are.
  22. I'm disgusted that this is still going on - I have an ongoing case regarding this very issue where I have firm evidence that their actions against me in this regard were fraudulent. Be aware that they will not rescind easily to this because they are the most thoroughly dishonest organisation of crooks ever. But whatever you do DO NOT pay ever, no matter what - you are innocent and they are a fraud. Most importantly, involve your MP - write to your MP right now to get them involved on this and communicating on your behalf - it helps to clear this up a lot quicker - and then when you've done that go through the complaints procedure with the PHSO. The more of us that do the better we can beat these criminals that run the transport system. I reiterate I have evidence proving their actions to be fraudulent against me and my case is ongoing - it started about 18 months ago and I'm having to escalate it at each level, I check back here for the first time in a long time to see if the complaints I've been going through for the past year have made them clean up their act and this is the first thing I come across. Despicable. If you need any help don't hesitate to contact me further.
  23. Do we know that this is the same guy responsible for the fraudulent DVLA clampings earlier in this thread? Shows the kind of people they hire.
  24. "police will just leave it and let capital 1 do what they like." The police don't do ANYTHING AT ALL. They don't care. It's not just Cap One, everyone does what they like. Especially with the new laws about fraud, they don't even need to make it excuses not to do anything, they don't have to.
  25. I knew I was just going to hear more excuses from these crooks, but I had to include a letter of complaint directly to the head customer service manager at the DVLA as part of my complaint procedure to follow through with my MP and the PHSO. Staying true to form with the DVLA, the response was a really flimsy letter remaining vague in addressing the points of my complaint, and carefully written to apologise for any inconvenience something else may have caused. The best one was their excuse for why people at their offices had slammed the phone down on me (see story above), apparently they're concerned about us incurring phone charges! They're probably just concerned that it's money they could otherwise fine us for and don't want to miss out. Various other excuses and no real explanation or substance to address my complaints. I'm sure they have some "avoid the question" training program like whenever they've appeared on Watchdog the many, many times. Unfortunately, I haven't yet received a response from my MP, how long should I wait? I'll ask the PHSO and OFT if we can continue with that in mind. Does anybody have any experience of the PHSO? If I were to sue the DVLA, what kind of damages could I reclaim? Idoubt a few stamps and phone records would amount to much, what has been past success rates? Thanks
