  1. Would it be a good idea to change the title of this thread from 'employee' to 'employer'. Not that I would know how to do it! Sorry to be pedantic, but you might get more advice this way.
  2. Hello Legal. Have you looked at websites for charities like RNID? Often, organisations like that are pretty clued up. Hope you find some answers.
  3. I just wonder if the position is different with an ex-employer? And has the information been kept confidential? Shifty, you don't have to tell us about it in any detail at all, but do you have a medical condition they would have needed to record, as teaboy said?
  4. Hello. Something occurs to me and other caggers will correct me if I'm wrong, I hope. Is there a physical reason why you shouldn't do this? I don't know about the rest of it, but plenty of other people do.
  5. Hi brighton gal, I'm thrilled for you and very proud of how you've kept going and coped with all this. That's excellent news! Please tell us more about how it went when you are up to it, and sweet dreams. x
  6. Two things, easter. You could also print out paper copies of the emails, if that option is available to you. I'm not clear whether the 23rd December email went to you at work or at home, or have I missed something? Following on from what Elpulpo saying that bullies can appear to be the victim, this is well covered on the bullyonline site I mentioned earlier. They tend to be manipulative individuals with other problems. I'm pleased you're getting a good response to your thread.
  7. Make sure you keep copies of all the emails.
  8. So are we talking ageism as well here? Guys, does easter have to attend the HR meeting without a union rep? Easter, could the rep be there on a different day? I'm pleased you have a union involved. BTW, can you tell us how you ended up with a copy of the email?
  9. Good advice Elpulpo. Another thought, easter. There's a good website called bullyonline, based in the UK. If you can't find it, I'll have a look and post a link. They give good advice about counteracting this sort of behaviour and you might recognise some of the treatment that has been meted out to you. All grist to the mill if you're going to involve HR.
  10. Hello Tony. Did you manage to resolve this? It would be interesting to know how you got on.
  11. Hi, this sounds awful. Hopefully, one of the experts on this forum would be along soon, but I tend to agree with the union rep. Guys, does this count as discrimination? easter, have HR been involved? Try not to worry unduly, you've come to a great site and I'm sure help will be forthcoming.
  12. Hi Brighton gal. It's a shame about the CAB, but don't let that make you feel helpless. Trying to be charitable, the timing has been unfortunate for you, if they're had a long break over Xmas and the New Year, so this was short notice for them. And maybe their IB expert wasn't there. What time is your appeal? You don't need to feel helpless, you have CAG on your side. I prefer 'Don't get mad, get even' myself! Please post on this thread later, when you can.
  13. Hi brighton gal, we're thinking of you today. Please let us know as soon as you can, fingers crossed for a good outcome. My best, HB
  14. Can you give us a bit of background about why you didn't know there was a policy and how you come to be claiming now, if it's not confidential, please?
  15. Hi there. Does this policy pay out a lump sum for an illness covered by the group policy?
  16. Hi there. Does your friend have anything in writing from the company for before or after she started working for them?
  17. Poor you, being not great. Is there anything you'd like to discuss with us?
  18. Hi Brighton Gal. Lots of people on this forum have been through what they doing to you, try not to worry. Is this an appeal tribunal because you already appealed against the DWP decision and they refused to change it? And have you been sent a copy of your Atos assessment? There is a section on the DWP website that explains how they do the scoring, I think, but several charity websites have the details. We need to find inconsistencies in the report [was it a computer-based one?] and also anything you disagree with. I'm off out now, will check back later. HB
  19. Guys, is it worth the OP contacting the CAB? Happy New Year to everyone and good luck cobwebivy
  20. Hello sisgen10. I just looked on the Citizens Advice Bureau website about Benefits in Kind, which is what I think safety shoes come under with HMRC. According to the CAB, safety clothing isn't a benefit in kind, but I hope someone else will comment. You might try looking at Benefit in Kind regulations online. Good luck
  21. I agree with cynic09 here. My understanding is that the job/position is made redundant, not the person. It doesn't sound to me as if that's what they're doing. Am I right, guys?
  22. Hi Nikki5 I don't claim to be an expert, but from reading other posts about work problems, there's the CAB, the acas helpline who I found to be good, and I believe you can ring the Tribunal office. I hope another cagger will be along with an opinion.
  23. Hi there. Have you spoken to the acas helpline about this? I would have thought this was right up their street. Hopefully they will be back tomorrow?
  24. Hi Karrie. The pension scheme may have its own booklet, in addition to your Dad's employment contract. That should say what would happen in the event of ill-health or early retirement.
