  1. Say this to them. Thank them for their concerns and say that you have an appointment with your GP. Also, say that you feel that their continuous pressure to attend work is exacerbating your condition and would they kindly desist contacting as you will contact them regarding attending work appointments as soon as your GP recommend that you are in a fit condtion to do so.
  2. It is hypothetical, just was curious if any the gurues knew what the consequences if an employee asked for leave for caring commitments and was agree by person in the company verbally that it would be OK and the employer was totally unreasonable and would not give compassion leave for this purpose:whoo:
  3. HB it is a hypothetical question just wondering what the legal consequences would be if the leave was for caring commitment and the employer knew this but fail to contact the employee whether it was OK or not to take the urgent leave. Leave was agreed verbally by the person responsible for it but not OK by the HR.
  4. If a person needed holiday for caring commitments and work 2 days a week and gave notice say of 18 days notice for days (2weeks) caring purposes and manage did not get back about this employee took days for caring purposes what would the consequences be for an uncaring and unreasonable employer
  5. you have to ring them to make appointment to see someone regarding employment they are obviously very busy as it is a free service but they will be able to help with employment problems, my law centre is open on wendnesday night for this services:|.
  6. Have you keep all correspondences regarding contacting the council and have they put it in writing that you should give up part of your garden to them. I would write to the housing ombudsperson and send them all your correspondence regarding and what they council said about give up part of your garden. Also write to your MP, also the CE of the council. See if this action brings you joy with these people at the town hall (useless cretins)
  7. Go back to see your GP and explain to s/he that your employer is making you ill by pressuring you to go and see them. Also, when they call you in again tell them that you are not well enough to travel by public transport and perhaps if they pay for a taxi you maybe able to go and see them.
  8. Ring the law centre on Tuesday, they open late nights for employment issues. So you may be able to get some from there to represent you. Good luck
  9. I agree with your last statment about unions. I put in a grievance to my employer two years ago as they were in breach of DDA amount other breaches. The union rep obviously wanted a couple of day out so he came with me to the hearing and it was appalling the way he spoke about employees. That put me off to say the lease, however, when we went into the meeting he knew the HR manager old friends for many years apparently. The employer keep on with breach of DDA and all I go from the union was to keep putting in grievances. Now it takes many months for grievance to be heard but that was all the advice that dreadful union could advise. My partner is in another union and they are just a useless. They seem not to want to upset employers if they can at all help it. All they seem to want is your money and keep selling their services to employees. No legal help wantsoever from them.
  10. Go and see your local law centre they maybe able to help as they have voluntary solictors at the centre at certain time during the week. Why not send a SAR to the organisation that has your documents.
  11. My partner will be having an employment meeting coming up soon and would like to record it would a mobile phone with record on record the meeting if it was left it on the table where the meeting is to be held, or does it have to be a specific mobile phone with a special function that will do a record of the meeting for over an hr.
  12. Have unions changed their policies within the last couple of weeks then. My partner went to GMB after been with useless union and has found them to be just a useless as the first union. If you place is unionized then you may have a chance with an a union otherwise forget them and look to taking out insurances for cover. My partner was advised by GMB rep that before their solicitors would even look at a case they would have to be 60 to 80% sure of winning a case. They will not even give a legal opinion on a case....
  13. Not sure if you are aware of this change and hopefully it will be helpful for you. http://www.insidehousing.co.uk/news/housing-management/home-swap-scheme-to-help-tenants-move/6511009.article http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-10855547
  14. Does anyone know if it is possible to pay for a package holiday with a pre paid visa card from Post Office. Also would this avoid paying 2 on an ordinary credit card?
  15. It was at meeting regarding my partners absenteeism concerning disability, my partner said notes reason for absences that did not relate to what was on medical certificate it was then confirmed that the computer that the company was using was generic and limited to what could be put on it. So if someone was off with a headache they that would show up as aches and pains or if had pain somewhere else then that would show up arthritis
  16. Do all employers have a generic computer system for employees reason for absence from work regarding disability. The generic computer only recognize certain conditions regarding illness. Is this a disadvantage for employees if they are off work due to disability.
  17. Hope you do not mind me hijacking your thread, but my partner has a problem with a union and would like to rescind the contract with them as the rep is useless to say the lease he refused to refer the case for a legal opinion regarding an ongoing dispute with employer concerning DDA. Can one get cover for an ongoing DDA dispute with an employer on insurance that has been ongoing for years. :-? Should mentioned this was with USDAW initially and the rep keep advising when the employer would not make minor adjustments for her disability all that was needed was to keep putting in grievances. Joined another union and found them equally as bad and now wants to take out insurance in the hope that something will be done regarding DDA.
  18. HB, I have not got a copy of their T&C, it is a website and I am not sure, if the deposit I will pay will secure the flight for us. Is there a guarantee of you pay a deposit the flights will be secure.?
  19. This happened to me many years ago when I had an accident at work, the union I was in recommended one of their solicitors as it was an accident and they could not lose. However, the solicitors got the same amount of compensation as I did for doing the negotiations. I was asked if I would consider JM and I sought the solicitors advice and they told me that it was not a good idea, I can see why they advised of me of not going down that route they would have lost big time. Best of Luck
  20. I know this is different from Ebay clearance but when I purchased an expensive item from Argos store last year and found it faulty. I went back to the store that I purchased it from and they were wonderful. They arranged for the item to be returned and paid me £25.00 for employing a handy man for trying to put the item up for me. The store returned my initial purchased plus cost of delivery, the store gave me a name of their customers services to write to for reimbursement of the £25.00 handyman fee. I really thought that I would not get from them but true to their word I got a cheque for £25.00 a couple of weeks later. Well done ARGOS.
  21. They are only asking for £100 deposit. Does this mean that they will keep the flights for me on £100 deposit.
  22. Found some flights for next April 2011 what is the minimum deposit should be paid to hold flights. The airline is Virgin. :?
