  1. The Google review is here So I as said last week, I spoke with the DVSA to arrange for the MOT pass to be challenged. They were meant to call with 5 days, but they haven't. So I've now emailed a form and will wait and see. The dealer emailed me and said he would do the work but the email appeared to suggest that this thread should be removed first. I asked if he thought anything was inaccurate on the thread. So far no response and no further instructions have been given on how or when the repairs would take place. Naturally I have a life and will only commit a certain amount of time to this issue. I will update as and when time permits. Thanks again for your advice. I will make a donation to the site.
  2. Thanks - I'm not sure what template that is ? So I called DVSA and they said I could challenge the MOT and they would call me in 5 days. The warranty company have refused to pay anything at all. The repairs cost £320.00 for both front wishbone rear bushes and a CV boot. Not a happy bunny now.
  3. Thank you. The garage never called back in any case and they are now closed,so I'll email the dealer and say I want a refund because the car is unroadworthy.
  4. Sounds good in principle but as I say the dealer has already started to suggest miss use. I don't think he's going to roll over but I'm mad as hell now tbh. No car either.
  5. Thanks - as you can see from the dealers email to me,he's suggesting miss use and will almost certainly go down this road and the wear and tear thing. I'm waiting on a call from the garage so just to confirm, should I tell them not to proceed with the repairs ?
  6. So I should decline getting the repairs done, even if they are being done free of charge ? I don't know if they are being done FOC yet though.
  7. So the plot thickens. The Garage just called and confirmed that the rear wishbone bushes are shot and a CV boot is split. They haven't got an answer from the warranty company as yet. I asked the garage if the car should have passed the MOT and he said NO. The MOT was done on the day I bought the car and only had an advisory for a tyre. What should I do next please ?
  8. I would advise against it. There are other issues that I am not making public because of legal reasons.
  9. As stated the car has warranty and the car is going to an independent garage for the knock to be assessed. The garage will then speak with the warranty company and decide if anything will be fixed. As you can see from the email the dealer sent me,he is suggesting miss use and using the new MOT in his defense. I'll report back in due course. Thanks again for the input.
  10. I paid £2800 and you could be right, the advert may not have said remote central locking, but it didn't say it was broken either. It's an 06 but 40k
  11. Cash and I advised of the fault with the key within an hour. Not a nice man I'm afraid.
  12. Thanks - the warranty doesn't cover the key at all I'll ask them to quote for a repair none the less. Here's the email from the dealer. He's waffling on about flat batteries for some reason, I know not why. Thank you for your e mail, we would like to point out that a flat battery in a remote isn't a major fault, we pointed out to you that even after we had given you a discount on the phone for 200 pounds which as we explained is for any little niggles, we gave you a warranty for any mechanical faults that could occur, we also put a new mot on the vehicle from a rac approved garage, this ensures to you and us the car is fit for purpose. The consumer act you are quoting didn't come into force till 1 st October 2015 and does work retrospectively , then it has to be a Major mechanical fault ,and that the dealer was aware of it at the point of sale, we suggest that if you feel the car has developed a fault take it to a reputable garage and ask them to diagnose the fault , if it is miss use them I'm afraid we cannot be held responsible for that , if not we then will send a warranty rep to the garage to see what we can do to rectify any fault
  13. Thanks - I'll get the advert from Auto Trader,I assume they will provide this to me ? Should I go ahead with the repairs ?
