  1. Nat west may also allow bankrupts to hold step accounts.
  2. Tune into this channel next week for the next thrilling installment of..... :o Breach of planning consent?:o
  3. Jumping a red light can be classed as driving without due care and attention. If a vehicle was parked in such a way as to block the traffic light, then caution should have been shown when using the junction. Normally, there are lights on both sides of the junction, one on the nearside and one on the offside. Putting it this way. This could have been a pedestrian crossing and a child might have been using the crossing. Nuff said. At the end of the day, he says he was caught, on camera, jumping the red light and has admitted it. There should be no further comment on this thread. Accept the fine and the points and more importantly think about his actions and don't do it again. I wouldn't want to receive a visit from the police saying my daughter has been killed by a motorist jumping a red light.
  4. The priority is to find Maddie, either alive or dead - and I hope alive. The recriminations must come later. On the subject of the Police Investigation, Portugal have a different justice system than the UK. What works for one country may not work in another. Portugal does not have the same type of media as the UK, i.e. nothing better to do other than harrass a police officer who is trying to do their job. The Portugease Police do not interact with the media - just watching the "Press Conferance" at 6pm this evening shows that. Even though it was clearly stated that the Police could not and would not answer questions about the investigation, other that was on the official release, the Officer giving the "Press Briefing" was harranged by the UK press. He was, however, sticking to his guns and only answering questions regarding the press release.
  5. First of all, send of a CCA to them stating that this account is in dispute. If you get a response, check the signature on the credit agreement. They shouldn't match. If they don't match, then this is one for the Police.
  6. Just a thought, if a DCA bought a debt, does the original creditor no longer has title to the debt? If this is the case and you CCA the DCA, the DCA then comes back without having a signed CCA, what happens to the debt?
  7. Having used many car washes in the past, I do read the instructions carefully, and every one I have seen advises motorists to retract aerial and remove loose fittings; and they nearly always have a disclaimer regarding damage. Carwashes are notorious for damaging spoliers and roof bars.
  8. I had a job at JPMorgan, as a contractor. The project manager, also a contractor, had not declared a CCJ. When it was found out, his contract was immediately terminated and he was escorted off site. The important thing not to have it a CCJ.
  9. An MOT tester should not remove any part of a vehicle for the test - including wheels. I'd give VOSA a ring to confirm.
  10. But what you are forgetting is that the Inland Revenue is a law unto themselves.
  11. Even if you are bankrupt they will allow you a step account.
  12. However, some opticians will allow the frames to be reused. I did this when I had to get a pair of prescription sunglasses. I had a decent frame and asked for the lenses to be fitted to them. This was vision express. They had no problem. Additionally, for those that don't wear glasses, the frames can be grease traps (grease from the skin), which is a hygene issue. Additionally, frames are adjusted for the individual wearer which makes it difficult to sell to another person. I certainly wouldn't buy second hand frames.
  13. This has just hit the BBC New Website: BBC NEWS | England | London | Council set targets over clamping Is this legal?
  14. Monday's a bank holiday. Probably be tuesday - if it was actually posted.
  15. These three days must be a local arrangement. You get it straight away where I work.
  16. For Statutory Sick Pay purposes, you can self-certificate for up to 7 calendar days. 8 days or more requires a certification from your GP.
  17. It's so that the licence is paid for when the renewal is due.
  18. On ITV 1 at 10.00 pm tonight is Traffic Wardens - Confessions. Might be worth a look.
  19. They still have 12 working days from the date the letter was delivered/signed for. If it takes them longer, then it's their problem.
  20. AFAIK yes. Most Hospital trusts sub-contract their parking management.
  21. First of all, welcome to the CAG. Secondly, this site mainly deals with UK Consumer problems and may not be able to help you. Good luck in trying to resolve your problem.
