I have just sent my letter claiming just 400 pounds or so back on unauthorised overdraft fees. I so glad I found out about this website.

One month me and my partner went £34.04 over our agreed overdraft, First direct charged us £105.00 in fees for the privilege!! I have been fighting to keep up with bills and getting out of the overdraft altogether for months now but first direct have not been very helpful when they are taking their excessive charges from me in helping out my financial struggles, hopefully I will win my claim and I will be able to close my first direct bank account for good...

I will keep u updated.

After receiving a wait 10 days for reply letter a week ago, I am very pleased to say that I have received a letter from first direct offering me more then I have asked for!!

They stated that they are sure if I took them to court that they would win but on they are also mindful of the cost and time of going to court and therefore want me to settle.

I am signing the letter and accepting straight away and closing my bank account for good!!

Thanks for all the useful information on this website!

Could you post the exact wording of this bit, i.e. if you took them to court they would win.

Thanks
