thanks caro is could be helpful but when I get into the template and click on to cut and paste into my documents the icons wont click on? I am just worried that if I can't get into this letter how on earth will I retrieve the spreadsheet which I have already posed a question to.

If I can't get to the start how will I ever get to the finish?

Ive tried printing it off - no good only obtains half the letter. How are other people managing? Really like to know.

Kind regards.

Not sure which icons you're referring to maddison. Best method to copy and paste it though;

Left click, hold and drag the cursor over the text you want to copy. Right click on the highlighted text, and left click 'copy'.

Open up your text editor (IE: Word), right click on the blank page, and left click 'paste'.

Sorry if it comes across as condescending. If this doesn't work, try pasting the text into Notepad first (Start > Programs > Accessories > Notepad).

Hi reload, thanku for making it easy for me. Took me a while but got there. Easy when you know how!!!!!

Just sending to LTSB and Capital One.

Hope you will be there for me after 40 days and 40 nights have passed (haha).

Regards Maddison.

P.S: the icons I was talking about were the ones on the toolbar, but realised that is just for Word and not transferring documents to Word, if you get my drift.

Something I forgot to mention.

We were due to have a payment taken out of the bank on monday for a loan together with a mobile phone bill. No monies in bank. I telephoned the bank on Friday (16th) morning to explain and ask if they would let them go through as it would only be a couple of days before money would be in the account. Ok will get back to me.

Phoned today (thursday) but too late they had already put 2 charges of £35 (£70 for each DD) on when we were only at this point £5 o/d now we are £75o/d!!

Will be speaking again tomorrow.

Can't help you with that I'm afraid, not sent an SAR myself. I'm guessing Birmingham would probably be the best bet though - they seem to deal with the other letters quite fast, and are probably getting a fair few other DPA requests too.

Hi Maddison (et al)

As a sole trader myself I know exactly how you feel. I'll be following your case with interest and will post details of mine (once I've gone through this mountain of information).

By the way, anyone know if I can e-mail my DPA request to Penny Berryman?

Great site Dave, just glad I flicked over to Radio 4 the other week.

Probably best not to because of the £10 payment. 40 days start ticking when they get that. Best to follow the normal process.

Welcome by the way. Look forward to following your thread. (hint hint);)

Just been reading through the forum..... (does it never end?) :)

Maddison, if you've been using internet banking you can do a search under Statements for all Charges. It'll only go back four years, and you can only search 3 months at a time. I did it earlier and it only took me about 20 mins to get all I needed.

Also, as a sole trader you'll have to have kept all records for the past seven years anyway. So the first two years shouldn't be too much of a hassle.

Hope this helps.

Straight on to stage 2 now I know the sums involved I guess?

No the forum never ends. If you have all the info you need for the next stage then go for it. If you start your own thread we can all follow your progress.

Good luck.

Morning everyone, apologies for not going on line for several days but both myself and hubby have been quite poorly.

Thank you for all your comments just wonderful knowing we are NOT ALONE OUT THERE FIGHTING THESE GIANTS.

We decided to get a credit reference from Equifax, this was posted last week and we are looking forward to see how often LTSB or Capital One defaulted us hopefully 'interesting reading'.

We have decided to wait for this letter before progressing as I feel I may need to adjust the DPA letter accordingly. However I noted that we can go back online to 4yrs of statements for LTSB.

With regards to my previous note for the charges I mentioned it has taken me 8 days for a 'new business manager' to get back to me. She has waived the charges of £105 (3 x £35) for a 'good will gesture' how kind of her and unbelievable as we have telephone banking with them.

Kind regards to all Maddison.

  • 2 weeks later...

Hi Maddison,

Just wanted to say you are not alone, I have been banking with LTSB for over 15 years and have a business account with them for just over 6 years. I have never has an overdraft facility on the business account and usually pay in every week, the charges they have applied in this time on this account amount to over £7k. I DPA’d them through there Birmingham office, 1st and 2nd letter through the same office with the usual “no thank you” from David Just (a popular name within the LTSB forum), went to local county court and served them on June 21st, they acknowledged the notice on 28th and now waiting for their defence. So just remember you are not alone and read as many threads as you can, it helps build the confidence in taking on the banks.

Good Luck

Ricky.
