hi i sent a CCA request to Thames Credit as they have been sending a few letters to me asking for payment and now i get the following letter and my £1 postal order back :

Dear alix2,

Agreement Number: xxxxxxxxxx

Outstanding Balance: £xxxx

We write in reply to your recent letter.

We appreciate the comments you have raised and we are as anxious as you are to resolve this matter. In order that we may investigate this further and update our records accordingly, we would be grateful to receive some additional information from you.

Please phone us on our freephone number 0800 028 0773 to speak to our specialist department, as we need to ask you some questions to establish ownership of this account. We need to ascertain any previous address/es where you have resided that may be applicable to our enquiry.

As soon as we receive the information you provide, the account will be investigated and if appropriate, your name removed from our database. It is therefore important that you contact us as soon as possible so that we may update our records. We are unable to amend our records without talking to you further.

Please find enclosed your £1.00 postal order, as we do not charge for the documents that you have requested.

We would like to reassure you that we want to resolve this matter with you and look forward to receiving your call.

Yours faithfully,

HI

DO NOT CALL THEM

I would write back restating your cca request and reminding them of the time limit as it stands.

If they had enough info to chase you for the debt that should be suffiecient info for them to provide the documents

There may be more, that's just to start you off...

Though, the playful streak in me would certainly want to call them! (But that's me! ;))

Regards, Dave.

Standard letter from Thames. As Paul said, if they have enough info to lawfully chase you for the debt they would not be requiring your "help" to resolve your CCA request.
