OD interest is usually fairly low and generally seen as a fair charge for going overdrawn - adequate to pay for letters etc. However, if you can show that you were overdrawn DUE to the bank charges you received, and would have stayed within your agreed limits had you not had other fees taken, then you're within your rights to claim them back - otherwise they would be charging you interest on money that they had no legal right to take from you in the first place.

 

OD Excess Fee & Unpaid DD - do you think it costs Lloyds £30 not to pay a direct debit or £25 for going a penny over your agreed overdraft? No - so you can and should claim these fees back as far as 6 years.
