several cards with MBNA

hi - i've had several cards with MBNA as they seem to own everything (!). Can i issue one DPA letter asking for the list of charges associated with all cards (3 in total). Would that mean I should pay £10 for each card??

 

any help much appreciated

great - will do. I actually have had 4 cards with them...but I closed 2 in 2001...still about £60 of charges on each though. Looking at about £150 in total.

 

I've addressed it to Michael Rhodes - is that right? I found it in another thread..the Chester address.

Yep, everything right so well done.

 

It seems really strange to me that a company would issue 4 cards for the same person. Why not just issue one with a higher limit. Bunch of wasters. Sorry I hate MBNA !

crazy isn't it...at one point i worked out they'd given me almost £40k of credit availability (i didn't use it all thank god or i'd be in real trouble)!! Then i got a really snotty phone call from them saying i wasn't allowed to have more credit than my annual salary and they promtly slashed my available credit...as if it was my fault! Every other month they upped my limit without asking me if i wanted or needed it....it's easy to see how so many people get into real difficulties with credit card debt.

I'm a complete card tart now...but after ignoring mbna for ages they gave me a 0% transfer option for 12 months, so i've taken them up on it and now can't wait to get my charges back from them...who hoo!!!!

a list of charges received from MBNA yesterday - very clear, no faffing around with 6 years of statements and they returned my £10 fee

£271 claim going in later today..will keep you posted

Ok they paid up!!! Although i have to admit to them only owing me £131 not £271.. the list they sent me also included some payments previously returned, but it wasn't clear and I included them in my total (blonde moment!). Anyway, had a letter last week saying 'we do value your custom and so we would liek to resolve this matter. I have therefore credited your accoutn with a goodwill payment of £131 on the basis that this is in full and final settlement of your complaint.'

 

It's not a fortune but as the ad says...every little helps ))
