Problem with PC Monitor

So sorry for posting in wrong section, was given the news last week I have COVD! not been anywhere , found out as has had really bad accident.

Anyway I        have windows 8.8/1 and today for some reason I only have 3/4 of screen! was working last night, have tried  looking    how do it  but no joy

If someone can help be much appreciated, thank you so much

monitor is an Acer, I closed the computer down, checked monitor and can not     find display setting , I am uses with computers/Technology. I have had comp  a long time, time for a new one maybe? no idea what go    for, but have just had a brand new Galaxy tablet bought me

TJ, this is what got when I right clicked, it shows, 1920 x 1080 , high, recommended

think go for a new set up, computer tower makes a noise  at times and computer is old,  windows 8, 8.1 , had it years, not a clue about new windows 11 or how get stuff from old comp to new  am pretty usless lol

cant take a pic,  no camera  the picture is straight but does not go to the right side,

ok, have done everything you all suggested, read the manual and followed it, I can bring all the buttons up but  it not let me press any of them  am either totally useless lol or am missing something, going hopefully get a new set up but need to know how to transfer everything of old comp onto new? I have loads stuff  xx

not heard of the one drive tbh TJ, I do more or less everything online/email and no home phone and just a bog standard basic mobile lol

TJ, I tried to get the onedrive but as I do not have windows 10 or 11 it would not let me d/l it

new comp  has not arrived yet but think it is windows 11

I finally found onedrive but it will not let me do anything, keeps saying need  the app! lol, looks like have get a memory card/stick and stick everything on for new comp, have no idea how big to get one, have alot stuff on here :/, I just want start feeling well again

right, tried to find drive c,  all got was pics 12.6 GB, VIDEOS 498 MB, DOCS, 615 MB, D/L'S 54.9GB, 101.GB AVAILABLE FROM 222 GB, did tell you I am no  comp tech!  

Btw new comp is an all in one so should not need a new monitor, am supposed be getting fibre tomorrow

I  just want to get better atm, really knocked me for six, the fall and Covid :/, so am slower then normal! lol

I got the pic s from my list, clicked on copy but nothing appeared, did not say anything, like copy to where,, I have  showing  drive c, drive d etc, on the left is all the stuff on comp, says pic etc, I can not copy the page to show you as not let me  sorry

have done all you suggested,  it will not copy anything,  or do anything :/, no idea what doing wrong,   can not even remember what new comp has GB/MB/ etc, not even sure  will like  it as been so sued to using this, windows 8.8.1 and chrome for OS

one drive saying need to update windows, did that but says no new updates, so for now I can not put anything onto one drive, I give up

hi Stu,

I have tried that but I think my comp has given up, I clicked the updates and it  said restart comp which I did but it still not let me do any updates, I have even typed in driver updates... nothing.

 

TJ I will give your suggestion a try if get time, new comp arriving today but still need transfer everything on this one to new one

am convinced  it is my comp as when I  go to open a page all I get is the bar across the top, I then have to click onto the maxamise bit to open it
