Hello.

I sent a CCA for this account to Wescot who have replied within 48 hours sending back my request and £1.

The last contact I had for the account was last year from Wescot and I never received a change. Do I abide by what they say and send to Paragon or is it Idem? I’m confused it they are the same or not.

Letter

Yes you should just leave it.

Probably a good idea to slow down – start reading up and also wait for advice before you start firing stuff off

when did you open this A/C

and when did you last pay anyone anything?

it's always better to consult CAG before rushing off and sending anything to anyone.

OD 's aren't covered by a CCA request

and wetcloths don't buy debts so are not the target of a CCA request anyway and should never be responded too...

@BankFodder
I will do. Apologies I got carried away, only realised when the letter came today when I read further into it

@dx100uk

This could be a year or two now.

I just found an older letter about it from Westcot.

I believe that was from last year & the overdraft itself is from around 2011 or 2008.

There were two but as they’ve gone off my report now I have no idea which one it is.

I’ll wait for the next letter to arrive i suppose (if it does at all) from the creditor now and then seek advice as instructed

no harm in sending haliprats an sar.

if the a/c is +10yrs odds on the balance is mostly penalty charges and the int they attract.

which is why they sold it for <10p=£1 rather than take you to court and crush you dead

think about it...

Hi dx

sorry for late reply didn't realise you had replied. When I think back I have had at least 2 cheques in response to charges from HF in the past few years (I had a student OD and a current account) if it effects anything

but not related to this a/C

i bet the sar will reveal the real truth of what the balance really is made of.

even if this did result in a speculative DCA court claim.

we don't lose many OD claims here.

Hello just to update I received my Sar today.

I plan on looking through at the weekend, if I’m not mistaken it also shows the price of the debt sale of my previous accounts.

If I am reading it correctly it’s 45p!

prob 45p=£1.

thats quite high actually

typically it's <25p and as low as 1p!!

Hi DX

I'm really confused with things they've sent over,

This is the charges I can see on this account (Student OD)

Took the account from around 1249 OD then to 1691 by the end with these charges

there were token payments made in-between of about £1 from me.

They automatically sent me a few refunds from charges but I believe they weren’t this account it was another overdraft current account I had with them.

There is a letter in the SAR for the other account number about a cheque refund

I never contacted them

ok well that puts the a/c in serious dispute.

pers as long as idem have your correct and current address i'd leave until/unless they send a letter of claim.

  • 1 month later...

Finally got hold of my statements look like originals (well they are on proper bank style paper not just A4 sheets) anyway.

The account conduct I'm not proud of opened Sep 2008,

Oct 08 - Credited £100 - £905 OD

Nov 08  - £1228 OD

April 09 - £300 Credited -  £948 OD

Jun 09 - £10 Credited £1175 OD

July 09 - £1244 OD

Nov 09 - £10 Credited - £1234 OD

Dec 09 - £10 Credited £1234 OD

Mar 10 £10 Credited £1234 OD

Apr 10 £10 Credited £1234 OD

JulY 10 £10 Credited £1237 OD

Aug 10 £10 Credited £1237 OD

Sep 10 £10 Credited £1237 OD

Pattern Continues with credits being made into the account by me, and then back out

Jun 13 £500 Credited £885 OD

Next month its' back up to £1100-1200 OD until Sep 13 where the interest starts (about £6)

Crucially I'm missing statements after 2013 - this is ridiculous right? I know in my SAR I had a copy of a complaint over charges in 2014 as they charged me £90 in OD fees.. Honestly they have been horrendous at this so far.

Back to nagging them.. again for the rest..
