My husband did it and used the sample letter from this site. He asked for charges of around £900 to be refunded. (he did put the exact amount!)

Hi,

I went into the Bedford branch to get my 6 years worth of statements, which arrived 2 days later.I then hand delivered the standard letter(excluding the statement request bit obviously) and received a very polite no 2 days after that.I now have to wait until tomorrow (I gave them 7 days to pay back all charges) until I put in my claim at court.

Dave.

Hi,

This is Debbie's husband. Although we know the exact amount, it would be handy to have all of the statements anyway in case we ever do get as far as court action as I'm not 100% sure that we have all of these.

If the DPA request wasn't taken out (which it wasn't) will a separate letter have to be sent to the bank requesting the mone again?

I'm afraid that I think that the template letter is causing probelms and it is going to be replaced.

If you know all of your charges, then send them a 14 day lette before action.

Send them a DPA request as well anyway. Send it separately in a separate letter so there is no risk of confusion.

if you don't knwo your charges then wait for the DPA response. Do your schedule, send it as a letter before action and at the end of your deadline send them the Good News.

Do this now even if it duplicates what you have already done. Who cares.

I'm going to sort out the Library letters

OK then, I'm assuming (probably incorrectly) that the 14 day action letter should be the letter I have already sent to them without the DPA stuff in it and the terms changed from 7 days to 14 days? Sorry to be a pain, just want to make sure I get it right

Sorry but I'm losing track.

there are now two new letters n the library. A DPA request - 40 days.

Letter before action - 14 days.

If you have the info, calculate. Send them the letter before action.

If you don't then send the DPA request first to get the info. Then the letter before action.

If you have the info but you want thestatements anyway, which I Think is what you want then send both letters at the same time each under speparate cover.
