The comparative (statutory) 8% interest (if applicable) on judgment debts in Ireland has just been reduced to 2% (wef Jan 2017) '...as it was widely perceived that the 8% rate which had applied since January 1989 was punitive and no longer reflected current rates.' Lexology

 

Will England and Wales follow suit re its own '91 Order, re the Judgments Act?
