got a letter from fidelite credit management saying i owe a debt of just under £350 to Admiral insurance company.

Well as i have never been with admiral,

i phoned admiral up and they have no record on me at all,

even there many other companies including Elephant.

- my details are not on the entire database.

well, today i received a card in the door saying first time visit, call head office/

i was going to email them but the email button on website dont work

- so i find this fishy, but seen on here about same company.

do i just ignore them as suggested on other threads

Of course you ignore them, powerless shower they are!.

Check your credit file and see if there is anything on there.

Never EVER ring a powerless DCA, they are not bailiffs, and have no powers whatsoever.

Keep a diary of events also.

Who ever heard of someone getting a job at the Jobcentre? The unemployed are sent there as penance for their sins, not to help them find work!

If you do ever open the door to the DCA simply say 'Anything in writing only, please leave or I will call the Police' and shut the door, do not enter any argument with them and do not answer any questions. Bear in mind the first words they may say when you open the door is your name as a question to get you to confirm who you are - do not answer! Simply respond with 'Who are you' when they say 'DCA' you say leave as above.

snotcrawl sorry scotcall dca in a dirtier mac.

dx

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

Those visit cards are often posted, so check for post mark. They are designed to think you have had a personal visit. I had several of these for a relatives debts chased to my address and only on one occasion did someone visit, for a debt of about £40. The commission agent was wasting his time, as i wasn't going to pay someones elses debt and never to any form of debt collector.

Check your credit file, just in case anything has been added in error.

Admiral are pretty poor at realising when customers have left them and not renewed policies, they like to claim that you owe them because they woanted to automatically renew even though they dont have the authority. This leads to letter writing, threats etc but the sad thing is that you wont be returning to them for insurance because of their appaling behaviour.
