Repossession order Daughter now living in Spain

Hi

Daughter has a car on finance among many other debts.Just been passed over loads of debt letters from her old address including her car finance. She hasn't paid any payments for months and there is a Repossession Notice as well as a " nice, handwritten note" from a collection agent. I have her car gathering dust on my property.She owes about £8000 on it and it is now worth maybe £2000 - high mileage etc. I would not be adverse to offering them £1500 for it Would they be likely to accept this, or, am I putting myself at risk by getting involved? Any advice appreciated

If it is on finance, has been repossessed and they cannot find it, it could have been reported as stolen. So should not be driven on the road just in case.

 

Best thing to do is to call the collection agent and tell them where they can collect it. Just say your daughter parked it and left the country. It is none of your business then. They won't want to deal with you, as it is up to the finance company to decide what they do. Will probably be sold at auction and then they will pursue your daughter for the debt.

Agree with UB don't get involved. May well have been reported as stolen, get it collected
