Hi,

My husband has had a letter from ccs regarding a debt of £397. When my husband called them they told him it is a crisis loan from 1999. He has spoken to dwp and they said he has to go through the ddbt company to pay it.

Is it enforcable as it is a loan through dwp, even though its from 1999?

Dwp has said that regardless of whether it is over 6 years they csn still chase it.

My husband and i have been together 14 years and this is the first weve heard of it. He cant remember that far back, but i know hes only been on benefits for about a month in the whole entire time we've been together.

Any help will be much appreciated.

Thanks

DWP can still chase as its not subject to SB limitations... HOWEVER....

He doesnt have to pay anything to the DCA... .SImple! ...They wont do anything or take you to court etc

We could do with some help from you.

Hi

Thanks, he's just spoken to them again and quoted consumer acts etc . They admitted they can't take him to court but can still pursue. He told them, they can pursue all they like, they won't get a penny out of him. If they had actually contacted him years ago he would have paid it but not after 16 Years .

Stop speaking to them and just ignore. Deal with dwp direct. If you don't pay though, they will take it out of any future benefits including pensions.

Any advice i give is my own and is based solely on personal experience. If in any doubt about a situation , please contact a certified legal representative or debt counsellor..

If my advice helps you, click the star icon at the bottom of my post and feel free to say thanks

Now they've rattled your cage demand all details they hold on your OH and issue them with a SAR.

Who ever heard of someone getting a job at the Jobcentre? The unemployed are sent there as penance for their sins, not to help them find work!

yes go get all the details via the free sar.

if they don't send them, then you can challenge the 'debt'

they must have proof that you owe it.

dx

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...
