Bought a Google Nexus 5 phone about 9 months ago from Carphone Warehouse for my son. Recently it developed a fault, bot powering up, or randomly turning off if he could get it to turn on.

Did a search and seems there have been lots of issues with this model phone.

 

Took it to the branch where it was purchased and they sent it off for repair, said it would be repaired or replaced with a refurb if it cant be repaired.

 

Looked on the repair tracker today and it states that it it a serious fault, can't be repaired and its not covered by the manufacturers warranty, they then go on to talk about a subsidised upgrade or discount on a new device. It is not on contract and only about 9 months old.

 

As yet I don't know what the serious fault is.

 

Are they trying their luck?
