ps, not sure if it was actually under Sentinel (presume it was as loyds seemed to use them), old statements just say 'cardholder protection plan' £x.xx, and is mthly.

CPP and these high street banks and credit card issuers have agreed to be part of the scheme:

  • Bank of Scotland
  • Barclays
  • Canada Square Operations Limited (formerly Egg)
  • Capital One
  • Clydesdale Bank
  • Home Retail Group Insurance Services Limited
  • HSBC
  • MBNA
  • Morgan Stanley Bank
  • Nationwide
  • Santander
  • The Royal Bank of Scotland
  • Tesco

Lloyds TSB is not on the list because it says it didn't sell CPP.

hi

have only just been given some stuff to look at.

anyway, turns out (as above) 'cardholder protection plan' is re card ppi not cpp.

plus, it seems loyds didnt use the company cpp, they use/d sentinel. sentinel/loyds is not under the current redress, but such ins may or may not be under investigation, fca apparently wont confirm either way. (mse site)

wld it still be poss to claim re this card ppi, as last statement have so far atm is '04?

IMO

The current redress scheme is for the company to which the lenders/banks farmed out the CPP plans.

Sadly the deadline for lodging a complaint is tomorrow (Saturday 30/8/14).

CPP should have written to all of their customers about this.

If no such letter has been received from CPP then it may well be that the bank were providing this off their own back (which could be likely given that Lloyds have their own insurance arm).

If that is the case then if this is a mis-sell then the bank should be approached directly rather than via the CPP scheme.

If the benefits offered by their CPP equivalent scheme were doubled up i.e. that the general terms of the card covered you for something for which they covered you again for an extra fee then I would suggest that this is misleading and is a mis-sell.

Any chance that you have you have the general T&Cs for the card? If so I would compare those to the ones with this policy to see if things were doubled up.

Bear in mind that Lloyds were probably the biggest sinner in terms of mis-selling PPI so it begs the question "How many more of their products have been mis-sold"?
