I too have been defaulted by MM and this happened last month. I have no idea what this is for and it relates to something dated 2011. I had an excellent credit score until this happened. I have ask them for all the data on me and they replied with ; there is a fee of £10 plus 2 forms of ID and it can take up to 40 days!

Is it legal to default a person before informing them that they will be taken this action?

No id needed. Just send them a SAR request. If they fail to comply, you can take them to court under the DPA for disclosure.

However, they have yet to even prove any debt exists, so i would send them a prove it letter from this sites library.

Any advice i give is my own and is based solely on personal experience. If in any doubt about a situation , please contact a certified legal representative or debt counsellor..

If my advice helps you, click the star icon at the bottom of my post and feel free to say thanks
