Back in 2010 Nationwide applied several charges from £15.00 to £30.00 for unpaid direct debits. The total amount comes to approximately £300 without interest. Back in 2010 I was in financial difficulty and this didn't help.

I sent a letter to Nationwide recently asking for the charges back. They have sent me an income and expenditure form to fill in. It states they will only take in to account my financial circumstances now. However, I'm a lot better off financially now, than when I was in 2010 so don't believe I have a chance in getting these charges back.

Could anyone advise me on the best route to take or should I just forget it and put it down to experience?
