A friend whom used to live at my address recently had a letter in post from Scotcall, but was sent to my address as was last known here.

It was regarding an alleged specified amount owed to a mobile phone company about 3 years ago.

I guess my friend should send the 'prove it' letter, but do you think my friend should include their new address on the letter? Probably a stupid question!

Also I presume this will not affect my credit record?

No it wont affect your record so no need to worry. Itll be linlked to his. Common myth that other peoples debts registered at an address will affect your credit profile unless you are financially linked.

The prove it letter... Not 100% sure it would apply here... But then again i rarely use the templates as i love a letter writing exercise. If it mentions anything about a CCA request then it wont be applicable. These are utility contracts and are something completely different.

Plus Snotscrawl.... I would ignore them, they are a tame DCA that never really go any further than the usual threats.

Just return the letter, "Undeliverable" or "NOTA"

We could do with some help from you.

Scotcall only deal in lemon debts. No exceptions. Completely ignore them. Use their letters as firelighters or toilet roll.

Any advice i give is my own and is based solely on personal experience. If in any doubt about a situation , please contact a certified legal representative or debt counsellor..
