Hello,

I have recently changed my name via Deed Poll.

I want to tackle my debts atm.

I notified my bank so they will most likely amend my data with all the CRA.

Do I need to notify any of my creditors/dcas?

And how to be sending CCA/SAR requests as from now?

Just print my new name or add in the text previous name?

Hi Welcome to CAG,

Yes you will need to advise all your creditors and DCAs you are involved with.

Any SARs or CCA requests should be in your new name and phrased as xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx formerly known as xxxxxxxxx name changed by deed poll on date xxxxxxx.

You must always make it clear that the name change was not made to avoid responsibilities.

Good luck!!

What if DCAs request a copy of my deed poll? Do I have to provide it regardless of whether I want to or not?

I shouldnt think that they would require a copy.

I could understand a bank wanting a copy if you applied for an account or if you made a subject access request (SAR) for personal data.

DCAs have no real need to see this.

I have seen a Deed Poll Changes shown on credit reference file as AKA Mr xxx
