Having been in the support group of ESA since May 2012 I received another ESA50 in December 2013 which I posted back to Atos on 6th january this year (sent and received by Royal Mail Special Delivery)

Just how long does it usually take for Atos to reply as to whether I have to have another messical.

I'm only asking because I am a little stressed at the moment as I have to attend a DLA tribunal in two weeks (the last one was adjourned for me to have another Atos medical which was at my home) and I don't think I can cope with the two hanging over me.

Should I just phone Atos and ask them the timescales.

Hope that makes sense

I was hoping someone would have some personal experience

Fair point. Each review is going to be case by case and so it's difficult to predict, even in broadly similar circumstances what's likely to happen. If it's causing you a bit of anxiety it's best you get a definitive answer from the horse's mouth so to speak. Being told one thing on here for the DWP / ATOS to then call you and do the exact opposite isn't likely to do you any favours.

My views are my own and are not representative of any organisation. if you've found my post helpful please click on the star below.

you could email them, they have a customer service email address on their website. I found they were able to check my details and let me know if my case had been looked at yet etc, my daughter emailed them every two weeks to keep a check on it all.

And if you have a read around CAG, you'll see that folk are waiting anywhere between a few weeks (usually in Scotland) to upwards of six months further south. And should there be another messical that you want audio recorded ...... But for now, the four week deadline to wait for an audio recorder remains suspended. :-)

Unfortunately, cos of their personnel problems, you're not likely to get a definitive answer out of Atos either. They usually murmur something about 'a few delays'.

So unless you're really unlucky, your tribunal for disability living will be well over before Atos catch up with you again. Whatever the outcome of the tribunal, ask for the statement of reasons. Might be something in it to support your continued entitlement to employment n support. :-) Have the Tribunals Service disclosed the latest Atos report for disability living? You're entitled to read it ahead of the hearing in case you want to prepare a response.

Best wishes, Margaret. :panda:

:Ruby_Tuesday:'s suggestion worked well for her in that she was able to check whether her file had reached the initial scrutiny stage.

Thanks to every one who answered, especially staryeyes52 for your detailed and very informative response

I had my last messical recorded thanks to the invaluable information on this site.

Oh, almost forgot to mention. I sent DLA a copy of my last Atos assessment when I applied for a change of circumstances. The DLA tribunal was left undecided because they could not make a decision with the information that they had, hence they ordered another Atos assessment with a doctor at my home. They now have that report which they have also sent me a copy to add to my tribunal bundle.

xx
