Hi all

I'm a little stuck, some advice would be much appreciated :-)

In April 2009 my Lloyds TSB bank account went over drawn due to excessive bank charges. At the time they were very unhelpful and I refused to pay which in turn they closed my account put a default on my credit report for £324.

These past 2 months Lowell have started sending me letters informing me they have taken on this debt and when i checked my credit report today Lowell have now added an additional default to my credit report.

I now have 2 defaults on my credit report for the same debt, and not exactly sure how to deal with this ?

it sometimes takes a few months for the OC's account to vanish.

Check my File uses 2nd hand data garnered from the 3 main agencies and is often well behind them when amending data.

However this is NOT to separate defaults, there is some times an 'inclination' that this 'double'entry actually shows the true picture of the conduct of the account from default by the OC to sale to a debt purchaser such as Lowell.

As long as the default date is shown is the same on both entries then it is clear that this shows shows the progress of the account.

You can however ask the OC to remove the original entry, most will do so.

Thanks for your replies...

Is there a letter template for asking the OC to remove the original entry ?

No, but you can uses this.

The Data Controller

Use Head Office Address.

Ref: Credit File Entries (you need to send screen prints of the entries with the letter)

Sir/Madam,

I enclose herewith copies of entries made on by credit files regarding the account for xxxxxxxxxxxxxx.

I find that xxxxxxx have now updated credit agency files with their data having purchased the debt I request that TSB now removes the original entry from all credit reference agency files to which it has reported this account.

Send by recorded/signed for post.

No guarantee they will remove it of course.
