Just a thought going through my head as reading the almost 5 reams of paper sent by Lloyds.

What are the rules on this and how far would it be ethical to claim back if it was allowed.

Reasoning on this is that the Bank had details written on their reporting screens.

Hi NewMe,

If there was an overdraft on a current a/c or borrowing on a credit card a/c, and the bank was aware that you were in Financial Difficulty, they had a duty imposed by The Lending Code from March 2011 to assist you by either stopping or reducing interest charges.

See this link - http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?387436-Letter-for-consideration-regarding-Hardship-or-Financial-Difficulty

If the scenario above doesn't apply, BCOBs may be of help to you. See here - http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?387431-Letter-before-Action-Removal-of-Charges-under-Hardship-criteria-BCOBs

Would you say the bank was aware of problems you were having.

Over what period of time has Lloyds been "unhelpful" to you.

:-)

We could do with some help from you
