Could someone clarify this as I was asked by a friend this morning

They had an account with Natwest, last used in 2008 Jan. Tried to claim fees for hardship in 2010, and never went through with it.

Has this reset the clock as I can't seem to find anything ?

If they tried to claim hardship in writing then I believe they would have had to admit the debt this would reset the 6 year statute barred clock. If the claim was only by phone then I believe this would not affect the statute barred clock. As the clock is reset by payment or written admission of the debt in the 6 year period.

Hi New-me,

Tried to claim fees for hardship in 2010, and never went through with it.

Was any attempt to reclaim made in writing or by phone in 2010. Or was it contemplated but not done ?

:-)

We could do with some help from you
