HFO Financial Services say I owe them £1700 after paying a total of £4000.

I had been paying through CCCS along with two other smaller debts.

Due to personal circumstance I've stopped using CCCS and intended to write directly to HFO to arrange a payment plan.

However on Noodle this debt does not appear at all either on open or closed accounts.

The debt must have been incurred somewhere around 2003/2004.

Precisely what am I paying this for?

Is it possible they have been taking payments on statue-barred debt

and if so is there any way I would be able to reclaim monies paid in addition to ceasing future payments?

I can't remember exactly how much.

It was a Barclays credit card, that much I'm sure.

It was taken out around the same time as my Egg credit card, which appears on my credit report.

To find out how much I'll have to contact Barclays.

Will they be able to tell me what the balance was at the time the account was closed/debt sold?

CCA to HFO. Forget SB if you have been paying, unless there was a six year gap with no payment.

It has dropped off your credit file because it’s probably over six years since a default was registered.

Have you been receiving annual statements as required by law?

I have a feeling you have probably paid off a lot more than you ever owed.

Simply call Barclaycard and ask when the debt was sold, to whom EXACTLY (full company name and address), and what the sold balance was.

Also, you mention HFO Financial Services – do you mean just HFO Services? Who claims to own the debt?

I smell a cash cow

ring Barclaycard and ask them when your last payment was

I bet they've not seen ANY of this money

as with ALL your debts

CCA everyone [inc that EGG debt!!]

dx

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

HFO is a debt buyer, DX, so no, they won’t have seen any of it as it’s not theirs!

But yes, worth it to CCA all your accounts.
