2 years ago I owed Scottish power £900

 

they put me onto a prepayment meter,

 

1 year later I only owed them £100

 

this year I thought when I received my bill considering nothing has changed except that prices have gone up a bit

that they would owe me and then they would change the settings on my meter

 

I waited and waited for my bill but it never arrived so

 

I called them up and after a heated debate with the call centres manager

he told me that we were all square and that the explanation would be sent out with the bill,

 

surprise surprise no bill and no explanation

 

am I just being paranoid or do I smell a conspiracy

 

could someone enlighten me

 

do I deserve a rebate or is he right considering that he admitted that no alteration had been made to the meter

but I don't understand how it works

You will do far better writing to them

Speaking to them on the phone is pointless as they are not bothered and can always deny saying things

Scottish Power are the pits. They are either totally ignorant of the Law or think they are above the Law.

I hate bailiffs is right. SP don't care and unless you can get them to write back to you on the subject that you wrote to them about you might as well bang your head against a brick wall.

unfortunately we have always been with sp as no other company will touch comfort plus heating but they wont tell me why

you can look on the internet upon how to interrogate your meter

 

that will tell you if there is any debt remaining to pay on it

 

and via your online SP website

 

you should instantly be able to view your bills too.

where do you go to do this and how will I know if sp have made alterations

depending upon the type of electric meter

 

the meter and its settings can either be updated

 

via the key - when you go get credit, it also programs the key with the new settings.

or

it is done via the electricity line electronically direct to the meter.

 

there are various 'guides' on the net to show you how to read your meter settings.

to make it show you debt etc etc. paid , unit charge etc etc.

 

find your meter makers name and model number [on the front]

 

type it in yahoo or somewhere

 

how to read the setting of a siemens 1234 electric meter.

did the screen tell you the weekly debt they are taking?

there is a debt screen on most meters]

 

if it was £0

 

then they have gotten all the debt back now.

 

then amount taken per week would have been set 2 years ago

and then poss reduced as the debt got near to £0.

 

so job done debt paid.

 

 

can you not log in online to you account

 

and download the bills

 

nearly everyone can

 

just like you can upload meter readings same site
