Hi

Have recently found this website when researching MMF, who have recently started emailing me ref a QQ debt that I had forgotten about.

The loan itself was taken out between 2007 - 08 when i was previously married (divorced since 09) and i have since moved house twice. I have not heard from QQ at all and also not heard of any pursuance of this or even a transfer of debt to this current company. In fact, I am beginning to think that maybe the debt itself is either statue barred or near the point of, since I am in Scotland, but maybe you could advise me.

The messages by electronic mail, as i say have started to come regularly, and I have began saving them since 24 Sep, the first one being a "pre visit appointment request"

We not e that you have failed to respond to our previous communications and your account has now been passed to our Home Visit Division.

We hereby formally invite you to provide a suitable appointment date and time for our agent to discuss this matter with you at your residential property. We intend to carry out this visit within 7 working days.

To prevent the need for a Home Visit, please contact us by telephone, email at XXX

If we do not hear from you then the account will be passed from our Home Visit Division to an agent, local to your area, who will attempt visits during the day, on evenings and at weekends, where suitable, in order to make contact with you.

Please be reminded that a lump sum offer of £«ttDocExtra0settlement» will be accepted in f ull and final settlement, representing a substantial discount.

We look forward to hearing from you.

Yours faithfully,

MotorMile Finance UK Ltd.[/color]

Debt they quote is for £898.50, my original amount from QQ from what I recollect would not have been over £300, so quite a difference.

28 Sep , the next received message

Please contact MMF office on 01138876876 to pre-book a Home Visit appointment, otherwise our doorstep agent may have to arrive unannounced.

Sat 05 Oct , the next , subject title URGENT CONTACT MESSAGE

Dear Mr XX

Please contact Motormile Finance regarding your outstanding account on 01138876876 quoting reference MXXXXXXX

Yours faithfully

MMF

Then one dated last night at 21.38 time! Subject title, Notice of Visit without an appointment.

Dear Mr XX

NOTICE OF VISIT WITHOUT APPOINTMENT

Our Ref: MXXXXXX

Debt Details: Quick Quid Payday Loans

Debt Value: £898.50

Despite our request you have failed to provide an agreed appointment date and time for one of our agents to make a home visit.

As such your account has been placed on our Home Visit Schedule and an agent will be visiting your residential address within the next 7 days. They will also make a report on your living standards and any assets that may be available for seizure should this matter be passed to our Solicitor for legal review.

If you want to resolve this matter without further action, then please contact our office immediately to discuss your account. We would remind you that we are prepared to discuss installment arrangements or, alternatively, a lump sum settlement discount.

This letter should be taken as for mal notice that we have attempted to agree a mutually acceptable appointment and have been unable to do so through your lack of contact. This fact will be later relied upon at court on the question of legal costs, should legal action prove necessary.

Yours faithfully,

MotorMile Finance UK Ltd.

What do I do with all this? Beginning to play on my mind and unable to concentrate on work, worried of their wording and intent.

Your advice would be gratefully received as to my actions.

Hi and welcome to CAG

As you are in Scotland, if no payment nor any acknowledgement of the debt, it could well be extinguished.

What you need to do is find out exactly when the loan was taken out and if any payment was made to it since2008 (October)

With MMF, they do have doorstep agents but if anyone does turn up, tell them to go away. They must.

There are some letters in the Library (top left-in green) to help if need be.

If you are asked to deal with any matter via private message, PLEASE report it.

Everything I say is opinion only. If you are unsure on any comment made, you should see a qualified solicitor

Hi Silver, and thanks for the welcome.

Yes, I am in Scotland now. I have made no payment or acknowledgement of this debt at all and believe from recollection that it was taken out mid-2008 or earlier. It seems that the MMF emails are progressive in their wording but have never received a letter from them , don't think they actually have my address (changed twice since 2008 when PDL was taken out) and don't have a phone contact for me. I also live with my partner who is the registered house owner, my name not being on the mortgage at all or resident at the house. So, not really sure if at all they have an idea of where they will be visiting if they carry out their threat!

I will look into the library of letters out of interest should i need to begin using them.

am very surprised that MMF have used this phrase

We hereby formally invite you to provide a suitable appointment date and time for our agent to discuss this matter with you at your residential property.

Perhaps they have now realised that people now know their rights so they are trying to get appointments instead of turning up and being told to bog off.

You could nip this in the bud by sending them this

Thanks. I would love to report them for the way they behave and intimidate. They have only been limited to emailing me on an old email address and therefore maybe don't know or care that I have actually received and read them. Previous posts about MMF all say that emailing back to MMF are pointless but I have had no other contact by letter or phone since they have no detail for me to do so, thankfully.

I would like to contact OFT regarding them and add to the growing list of those complaining about their aggressive behaviour and tone. The way they word their emails and the like are pretty threatening, all part of their game I suppose to intimidate.
