This is going to take a long time to set up.

I believe the C of E intend to set up credit unions based in its churches to compete with the likes of Wonga.

Does anyone know or have a link to any central list of registered credit unions? And info on how one is set up?

This really is nothing new, although may be not officially recognized half the smaller CU's in at least the North have been doing collections in drafty church halls for years, I know I was that soldier.

Unless they mean that they are going to invest money in adapting their buildings to make professional collection points, usually we are lucky to get a desk. But giving the churches attitude to spending money I doubt it. But if it raising the profile of the CU it is is never a bad thing.
