A woman has won a landmark victory against a bullying bank which bombarded her with *nearly 550 phone calls.

Amanda Roberts, 48, received hundred of calls over seven months from Halifax Bank of Scotland.

And the banking giant, which is 40 per cent owned by taxpayers, continued to harass her even when she asked it to stop.

Now, in a major ruling, the Court of Appeal has ruled the excessive calls were “intimidatory bullying” and *amounted to harassment.

To make matters worse, says Amanda, the bank also started calling her elderly parents. Her troubles started after she fell behind with repayments on a £7,300 loan.

Then the bank froze her current account, which meant she could not pay off a credit card debt.
