Hi everyone,

I've had a doorstep visit from MMF, I wasn't home so had a letter through the door. I took a payday loan out in 2010 for my the partner. We aren't together anymore and he failed to pay the money back.

The outstanding amount is £543.

The letter states if I don't contact them they will they refer the debt to their legal dept, to decide what is the most appropriate legal action to take.

Can they obtain an attachment of earnings? I don't want my employer to know of this.

I know not to talk to them on the phone. The letter has a mandate to fill in for payment via debit card or standing order.

I'm not gonna give them my debit card details.

I'm willing to pay the money back but on my terms.

Should I email stating I will make payment of £20 month via online bank transfer? I have 2 bank accounts, one for wages and one that I use now and then, no money is paid into the 2nd one.

I would use the 2nd account to make payment to MMF , will this be safe to do?

Would I send the email via their "contact us" on their website

Can they actually take me to court?

Thanks in advance

Hi there. ok so the payday co have shifted the debt, to the company that visited you, basically they are looking to get what they can, you can....Bury your head and await more threatograms etc.....contact them with a view to resolve and request a full breakdown of the balance etc........once you have that info you can then negotiate on your 'terms'. then come back here and we will assist further.

Chin Up.

Thanks for responding. I've had all the calls, letters and text messages.

Do I email and ask them to send a full breakdown and once this is received email them again with an offer?

I don't want court hearing or attachment of earnings.

Can they find out if I am working ?

Firstly, chill. Send them a letter ( recorded ) and ask the questions....await the response and post here, we will direct you further if needed.

Are you able to draft a letter?

Dont forget if you have ANY hassle from them such as threats, people coming to your door when you say not to, or phone calls when youve told them not to call, you NEED to contact the OFT. This company is a very shady company.

As a side note, any complaint needs to be addressed to the compliance director - Rob sands. Any other person it will just be ignored.

Any advice i give is my own and is based solely on personal experience. If in any doubt about a situation , please contact a certified legal representative or debt counsellor..

If my advice helps you, click the star icon at the bottom of my post and feel free to say thanks

There is no template, and you just need to give a simple explanation, and reiterate that all must be in writing etc. if you put info on here re oc and other info. debt amount, charges interest etc, I will do you a letter. or have a bash yersell. your gonna have to get used to this so get stuck in, Check your inbox please.
