Hello,

 

I know I promised a last minute action in the last email but in truth I didn’t

plan it to be this last minute! We figured MPs would debate bailiff regulation

on Monday but no! we just found out they’re doing it tonight!

 

 

So we want as many people as possible to get in touch with their MP before tonight

and tell them to back new clause 7 on enforcement services and new

clause 17 on protection of vulnerable debtors. They’ve all got a

briefing that we sent them yesterday but if you want more details we’ve written

up a quick bailiff briefing for social campaigners

To get your MP to back bailiff regulation simply:

 

1. Find our who is your MP is on findyourmp.parliament.uk
   
2. Then either email them or head over to Twitter and search for them
   
3. Then just tell them you want them to back new Crime and Courts Bill clauses 7 and 17 on bailiff regulation (add more detail if you want using our briefing)

I have written to my MP {Sir Malcolm Rifkind]. Hopefully, being Scottish where they don't have bailiffs, he will support the amendments.

 

It's a pity that this thread does not go to the top of the list when a post is added since I am sure that it would catch the eye of a lot more members when they logon.

LFI, it does go to the top when a post is made, sadly this forum has quite a lot of people posting on other threads, so they, then go to the top. Making it a stikky will not IMHO make a difference.. although I will have a word with Senior Admin.. See if there is anything we can do.
