Lot of debt businesses operating around the Leeds area. I thought that area of the country was known as the 'Rhubarb Triangle' and not the 'Lemon Triangle'.

We could do with some help from you.

May I say how moved I am to observe the overwhelming sympathy, extended by the contributors to this thread.

Please excuse me, I feel excruciating peals of hysterical laughter about to swamp me.

Leeds near Manchester, wash your mouth out! Manchester is a great city, Leeds is just full of yorkshire folk :-)

As for the demise of a law firm, it isnt the first and won't be the last. You have to remember that they also cover lots of other areas of law and as such many of the partners will have no contact with the DCA side of it. These people stand to lose everything, home, money, savings etc. And all the people who work for them as well, secretaries, paralegals, cleaners, etc etc.

Now maybe the demise of wescots or lowells might raise a smile from me ..but not this I fear

Just as we were saying...

http://www.credittoday.co.uk/article/14817/online-news/kpmg-agrees-cobbetts-pre-pack

So Cobbetts amazingly manages a rapid ‘pre-pack’ deal. Bet they didn’t see that coming! Oh...

Amazingly, only a day earlier, Credit Today had the following story, which they somehow failed to reference:

You couldn’t make it up.

The Incasso part of the Cobbetts business has just been acquired by HL Legal. God help us all.

I am astonished as well, my friends daughter is training for law and hopefully she will listen to me and not get involved in the nasty side of law, sch as repossessions.

I think though that all law students have to do a certain amount of the dirty work for firms before they can get into what they trained to do (unless that was their area they wanted anyway - but I cant imagine it myself).

I'm always absolutely astonished why any law graduate would want to work for one of these firms. Okay, there is a shortage of jobs, but rather a career change than end up working in debt recovery.

They're not called a 'solicitor' for nothing. It's just not an arrestable offence in their line of work. ;)

Make sure you do not post anything which identifies you. Although we can remove certain things from the site unless it's done in a timely manner everything you post will appear in Google cache & we do not have any control over that.
