Hi all,

I've recently been charges 2 x £25 for a failed standing order and a failed direct debit. To tell me about this they've sent me a single letter.

This seems like an exorbitant amount (I know they're a bank, but still). Is there anyway I can challenge this with a likelihood of success? Given that the whole process is automated, for a letter, I'd expect a charge of, say, five pounds.

Any advice very gratefully received. Thanks,

Mark

dx

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

Hello and Welcome Mark,

Claiming back these charges is almost impossible now, If it's the first time you have received similar charges on the account it's always worth giving the bank a phone and asking them to refund them, sometimes works.

Failing this have a look at the 'link' in dx's post above this :)

Regards.

Scott.
