Debt purchaser Capquest has announced plans to close its offices in Twickenham and Cape Town, South Africa, in a move that will affect 100 jobs.

The business also has 87 staff in Cape Town, 100 in Glasgow and 250 in Fleet. The Glasgow and Fleet sites remain unaffected. Job losses are expected to occur largely through call centre and back-office roles.

I'm absolutely heartbroken :(

Whilst nobody losing their job before Christmas is nice. Hopefully some of these phone drones can move into a different line of work and put their "skills" to better use.

It never rains but it pours...

I wonder if the "£3 billion of debt under management", includes all the SB'd, no CCA's, and other unrecoverable junk, added into the total, simply to make it look - erm, what's the word, [good, bad, impressive]?

I realise that debt collectors have debt, it's their stock in trade, but if I had a business that had £3 billion of the stuff, and I was getting rid of staff, instead of them setting about collecting my money, I'd keep quiet about it!
