Blocked drain, whose responsible?

Hi all, haven`t the foggiest where to ask this but our water is high in the outside drain and loo going down slowly.

 

Problem happened before but I can`t remember which way the flow went and who was the end of line before the waste went into main sewer in the road?

 

I suspect my neighbour is last in line so the blockage must be from her to main sewer so is she responsible?

 

last time, I am informed, due to my bad memory, that the problem was in the main sewer way down the road?

Doesn`t really answer much at all, just seems to explain the difference between drain & lateral drain and sewers in

a sort of contradictory sort of way! Thanks anyway.

If you have any manhole covers on your property, lift `em up and see whats lurking...

Also suggest looking at neibours mh down the line to find blockage. once found you can decide how to sort and who is responsable?

I was on the end of the line from my neighbours ( drain ran at rear of properties ) and often had blockages, due to nappies being put in the drain from an unknown source.

However as this was a common drain the Council jetted it each time for free.

Just dumped 500L very quickly down the drain and its cleared! So no need to buy rods, our MH is hard to get to but went to both neighbours and clean as a whistle now!

Yukk, I can think of nothing worse than looking down a blocked drain ( I probably could If I were to really think about it) .. but I am pleased you have managed to sort it out.

hose pipe often does the trick if you can find outlet.
