URGENT BACS Payment Re-call

More a theoretical question:

 

Employer X pays employee on a [[Friday 16th August]] using BACS

My understanding is that for the payment to clear on the Friday, Employer X would have had to "send" the payment on [[Wednesday 15th August]].

 

If Employer X needs to cancel/re-call the payment sent on the Wednesday, can it be done on the Thursday before the money hits the employee bank account on the Friday??

 

If yes:

Would there be a cut off time on the Thursday for Employer X to arrange this?

 

If no:

Can an employer reverse the BACS payment once the money is in the employees account, without prior consent of the employee ?

If the employee goes along to his bank on Friday AM and withdraws the £2k wages before the payment is reversed (if that can even be done), can the payment still be reversed, if the account is not capable of being "overdrawn"?

 

(Although highly "theoretical", urgent responses required!!)

Incidentally, for future reference, now I've found out elsewhere:

 

BACS Payments can be cancelled by the originator by 3pm the day after payment was sent, i.e. on the 2nd day of the 3 day cycle.
